Cooling ID-Cooling IS-47K 47mm 6-heatpipe cooler with 92x15mm fan - Black Ridge alternative?

While I have noticed the mixed review this cooler has, I am considering getting it for my Morex 2799 build. The ODD hangs slightly over the ram slots which rules out the Black Ridge for me. Plus the cooler is compatible with the Gigabyte B550i. I would be interested in seeing how it compares to the L9a using the Noctua bracket and an NF-A9x14.

While you can import it from Amazon US, does anyone if there are any UK based stores stocking it?

Has anybody tried mounting another fan on top of it for those with higher clearance? Would it be able to cool down an 8700k at 1.325v?

8700K @ 1.325v doesn't tell us the power consumption. See if you can get a reading on the chip through software like hardware info.

I think using a top-fan means it can cool something around 80-100W reasonably well.

Goes up to 140w during cinebench r15, while playing Horizon zero dawn it peaks around 70-80w. Currently cooling it with 240 aio but was planning to move to an air cooler. Have an option to stay on 47mm clearance with my dan a4 but also have an option to go all the way up to 70mm with my steck case. Was thinking 2 fan configuration with Steck case would be quite good as it's pretty much on par with Black ridge?

My question is if the 8700k is delidded? If so I am cooling a delidded 8700k in my Ghost S1 using the NH-L12 Ghost Edition and it works extremely well. I can run a 4.8 GHz overclock without problem but my voltage isn't as high as yours 1.28v. If you are using a non delidded 8700k I would recommend sticking with the 240mm AIO, this chip is notoriously hard to cool otherwise.

It's delidded, do you reckon NH-L12 would be the best option for 70mm clearance? or IS-47K/ Black ridge with 2 fans? As I also own a Dan case I was just thinking of having a flexible option like just removing the fan on top and it should fit perfectly with a Dan case.

With 70mm I would probably go with the NH-L12S, the Blackridge with dual fans is a couple degrees cooler though.

Is there a known backplate to add to the IS-47K for an Intel build (old socket 1150)?

Is it the exact same heatsink cooler than the IS-47K?
Yep, they basically just added metal brackets on top of the heatsink for the 120mm ARGB fan. I heard that they also flipped the standard orientation of the stock bottom fan to pull/intake + spacers.

Just found this video where the IS-60 EVO is for real and not from renderings:

I was interested in getting it for the 120mm bracket in order to replace the bottom 92mm fan. But it looks like the heatpipes will prevent from using the bracket upside down as it is specifically designed to be place on top and not under the cooler.
Heatpipes 'holes' in the bracket can be seen at 2:09.

Might get it anyway as it is about the same price as the IS-47K...

Interesting that they tested the IS-60 Evo without the top fan and found a 5 degree difference. Curious to see how it performs with just the top fan, since those are now on sale by themselves if people want them for other coolers, but it seems to me the top fan is just a copy of the Silverstone FW124-ARGB, which in my experience is inferior to a Noctua NF-a12x15

I'v very curious about the IS-60 EVO in a sliger CL530 (conswole). Replacing the stock 120/15 mm fan with a Noctua nf-f12 would would build the cpu cooler height to 74 mm (64-15+25=74) Maximum height available: 75mm!🤔

If the performance/noise is good enough for a Ryzen 5600X it would mean you could go for better (higher) RAM modules and not be limited to corsair LPX..
RTX 30XX FE fits the conswole like a glove already 🙂

Well I've one IS-60 EVO on its way..:)
Target is to define how it behaves with NF-A12x25 (2000rpm) and NF-A9x14 (2500 rpm) in order to prepare potential switch to N-ATX case.

Can i use IS-47 with liquid metal?

ID-Cooling talks about a polished copper base, but from what I see on my IS-60 EVO, the base is nickel plated.
You should be good with both anyway -> https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/...cts-copper-nickel-and-aluminum-corrosion-test
