So I am considering building my first SFFPC in the Ncase M1, I have already purchased the v6, just waiting on shipping. Now, I imagine I MUST air cool this thing, since it will be travelling on international flights and I don't want to run into any problems or have to check it in. However, this leads into some problems, because I would like to build the most high-end I can at the end of this year. I’ve been poring over this and other SFF and Ncase M1 communities and figured I should get some fresh eyes on the list.
This is for November/December btw.
So here’s what I’m planning:
3900X (or 3950X if the 3900’s dont go down in price or back in stock)
C14S (I’ve heard this is the best, but if something is absolutely better I’d like to hear it)
ROG Crosshair viii Impact Mini DtX
32GB ram
1TB M.2
2080ti
SF750
Its probably completely overkill, but what the hell, I’ll mainly be using it for rendering and 4k video/photo editing. I still haven’t decided on the specific parts (memory, storage, graphics), I’ll keep an eye out for Black Friday deals. But I’d like your opinion on compatibility and cooling.
1. Does it look like the C14S will run into problems with the mobos IO shield?
2. Do you know which 2080 ti’s can have their fans removed and cooled with custom fans on the bottom of the case, but the same heatsink (instead of buying an xtra cooler)?
3. If there aren’t any compatibility issues with my list, what is the absolute best cooling config, and how many fans will I need?
