I thought gury couldnt mod the bricks to work with the hdplex + 7.5mmX5mm higher than 330w? Hes mentioned it takes another plug to do so.

Where are folks finding these HP units? My Google-Fu is weak with this one.
Look for voodoo 350w...but, please be aware that all these psu are not produced currently..that's why they are quite hard to find.

I've found mine on ebay

So I got a Kill a Watt and hooked my system up to it today with the Corsair SF600. With all the stress testing I could muster, i didn't see the readout go over 260 watts. So I am thinking the brick might be bad, new one comes in tomorrow and we will see. If that doesn't work, maybe my HDPlex is bad, but I doubt it.

To give you another example on the difference between a Kill-A-Watt readout and an known peak, running a 7700K and 1080 stress test on the HDPlex 300W AC-DC had a peak reading of 305W from the wall but I repeatedly ran into OCP at 400W.

Not sure anything out there is actually going to power that combo cleanly. Even the 350W Voodoo is tight and there's really nothing above that unless you want to go with the Eurocom 780W adapter.

Aww bummer. I guess the only way is to go with gurywa's modded psu?

Yeah that's about it for now. Hopefully in the not too distant future you'll be able to chain two HDPlex 300W units together into a 600W brick.
