Increase volume from 9.8L to 10.5L to support MSI Suprim X 30XX?

  • Yes, worth the trade off to be more compatible with components

  • No, not worth it b/c it is not better than the ROG 30XX, which fits now at <10L

Btw what happened to the survey the test shippers answered? It had some interesting questions about customs and what not, would be nice to have them published for each country.

Please tell me I have a choice. What is better to take from these options in your opinion and experience. TX240 Ultrathin? EK-CoolStream Classic SE 240? Alphacool Eisbaer LT240? Thanks!
I will go for the LT or the Classic SE if you don't want to bother yourself too much. The TX is 2 degree better, but is 5mm wider, so you cannot have it completely near the top panel that has a max wide clearance of 123mm.
I have trouble also with the 25mm fan because rising my 90 degree torque to clear the 25mm fan height, push it against the front structure so the top panel (for now) is not closing properly.

Just checking, you're no longer using the Alphacool 1U reservoir you filed down? Would the EK-VTK or DDC 3.2 PWM fit inside the Alphacool 1U without obstructing your gfx? How much clearance do you have?

Thanks for testing the TX240. This would be my 1st watercooled build and I intend to use the TX240 in the T1 when its available. By the way, what fans are those? Scythe Slim and?
It is impossible to use the VTX, is too tall! But no problem using the DDC 3.2, without heatsink though. The clearance with the 1U reservoir is 1mm ?

Setting everything to auto in the BIOS seems reduce the temp significantly..
My LT240 just arrived, and do a quick test.
5 cinebench run in a row
With Manual PBO +200mhz in BIOS I get around 85°C max temp. 9200ish cinebench score
With everything auto I get around 71°C Max temp. 8800ish cinebench score
This is with carbonaut (since I don't want to waste that expensive thermal paste ?)
Asus x570i / 3950x
Will test with other radiator, tomorrow. I have to go home early today ?

@fabio please help me ? Can you measure how much space left on top of your gpu?
do you think I can fit 140mm GPU block (with 90°rotary terminal) in the T1?
The EK's gpu block for radeon vii is 140mm, about 20mm taller than rtx reference block

You can use fans on outside of radiator for a flush fit or use short bracket to fans on inside, and that way there will be some space between radiator and top panel.

I was able to fit full size fan in the front by using TPV HF 90 degree fittings.

How are you stressing the system during your tests? I want to replicate it. It won't be apples to apples but I can try to match the wattage and see!

@Cruella Devill I believe the full size fan is a Vardar

Exactly. I will use the short bracket and trying to have a different 90 degrees fitting or offsetting it.
BTW, the fans inside give obviously a more quiet system. I did a test with all the panel and the temp were only 2 degrees better, but the system quieter. I think The 2 slim fans are the easier and best option here as well!

About the test, I have the fan set to the delta water so they don't run up and down because of the CPU spike temp. I use the cosmos laundromat benchmark test scene with blender 2.82 increasing the resolution to 4096x1920 to have a render time of 40 minutes more or less.

I think tx240 + 2x 12mm schyte slim fan + 1x noctua 12x25 on top of the psu will fit..
But will the temp get better?

There is NO WAY for that!

Maybe a 3rd slim fan yes, but a push pull on a slim radiator??

BTW, with the 16/10 tubing was way more difficult to put the system together!!

Here some pic before te fill!

I was bale to keep the Torque 90 degrees using a Barrow offset fitting ;)

No relevant noise difference!
Hmmm I was really hoping the vtx was inaudible at idle. I can definitely hear the dc-lt. I had to take off the 7v adapter because I had some air bubbles stuck. I was thinking about trying to jam the whole vtx w/res in a different case but I'm not sure I can fit it or if it is worth it. Just wondering what if you push for the lowest noise output possible what you end up with in temps? From the pictures you posted you tested them all at 100%. Have you tested them at their lowest possible settings?
I could see that at 100% for all three there wouldn't be a perceivable sound but what is their sound level at idle and how much do temps change? No sure this is something you care to test. Just thought maybe you already collected this info.

No no, look at the speed in the top right. The VTX was tested between 20 and 60%, the DC-LT at 100% Because the QUADRO with DC powered fan/pump can run it only at 100%
The D5 was between 30 and 80%.

Hold on, the VTX between 20 and 40 is inaudible (at 40 also the DDC is ok, but the pitch noise of the VTX is better).
It can go down till 11% also! At 20% there is already enough flow (100l/h). The annoying noise come from the "splash" of the water inside the pump when it starts to run up the speed.

Also a bit from the plastic bottom casing. Maybe I should try to tighten a bit more the screws. If I hold it with the hands an put some side pressure, it disappear.

ohhh I must have not looked at the pictures from your first comparison correctly and then missed it on the other post.

That is great news and probably unfortunate news because now I'm going to have to try to squeeze it into my build lol

Thanks again for the fantastic information!

@fabio I think this guy did it

Hmm, if @optimumtech can fit his alphacool 30mm rad + 15mm fan (barely fit) total of 45mm

So tx240 20.5mm+ slim 12mm fan in push pull will be 44.5mm in total.. I think it will fit, BUT is it worth the hassle?

That's me! Haha!

In my opinion, if you are ambitioning to get 2x 12mm fans push pull, you should try to mod a 25mm fan and just use that with TX. I'm actually working on that right now but life is slowing me down.

No, the 12mm slipstream move almost zero air compared to the other 15mm.
Of course you can try, but again, I will stay with 2 fans only! ??

I really don't know how he was able to have the 30mm. With the EKWB 28mm (actually was more 28.6) I had push like hell to screw the top panel, and on the side you could see the gap between the top panel and the mesh one.

You want to have it INSIDE the case?
