Do you looked at the pictures above? The window is mount on stand offs. Or do you mean something else?

Sorry, I totally missed it being on standoffs already. Good thinking!

Today I made some prototype Window Panels out of cardboard with my plotter, to test some designs. Here are the results:

Its surprising how much temperature difference a single vent line makes! I know your keen on the minimalist look, so perhaps option 2 is a nice compromise between aesthetics and performance?

Rounded front corners look much better, IMO!

That's quite the drop for just the slot, didn't expect that !

If you think about it, the cooler is quite far from the sidepanel, so this single slot generates much less turbulence than if it was directly above the fan and more of its surface area can be used to take air in. I believe this is also the reason why pattern 3 reduces temperature so dramatically, even though it has much less surface area than pattern 4 and @Lone had huge issues with a very similarly sparse pattern in his design.

You may need to give consideration to the structural strength of the panel with the various openings. The single long slot (#2 above) would tend to promote a break along the alignment of the slot. The multi-slot grill pattern (#4) would probably be a decent compromise between avoiding an obvious plane of weakness and number of discrete holes to form.

What does the rest of you think about vipz (Hardforum) version with round corners? I like it.
This question is only about the corners and not about cutouts.

I'm with Phuncz on this one. I like your version more as well.

It's all about that sweet symmetry with those lines at the rear of the chassis. I really liked that detail.

Rounded Corners and Angled rear shape follows the case's silhouette better than all four rounded corners.

Here are the two most vodet as rendering and the DAN logo as third option, because some users asked about it.
Don't wonder about the white shine around the corners. This is only a lighting problem in my rendering scene.

And in classical presentation:

B because I wouldn't have expected it would work well. I'm all in for "magic".

C because I'm more function than form, or A because the logo makes it stand out while still being minimalist.
