Hi! I am looking to build a budget SFF or mATX (micro ATX) PC. (yeah, I am using a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro 16inch 32 GB RAM, and it's NOT good (it gets hot, and fans run when my crontab runs (it’s just checking if my battery is <20% and if so it turns another pm2 process off
))).
I got the RAM, SSD, monitor (Dell s34dwg) (not included cuz a family member is gifting me them), case (Montec Air 100), and MOBO (motherboard, ASRock b650m pro rs wifi). Right now, it’s at $1554 (I manually calculated the prices with taxes and used deals). My budget is $800, but if the parts look future-proof and robust, then I could fit in $200 ($1k). If there are cheaper alternatives with similar performance (e.g., CPU, GPU), then please tell me!
PC Building Context:
I built a PC for my brother in 2023, fixed my sister’s laptop (it went black) and other misc things she asked me to fix, fixed my 10 yr old PC (it beeped and went black) multiple times, and revived my parent’s OLD PC. I also fixed my brother’s wifi adapter. Also some other things i cant remember but that’s a little of me. Making this PC compatible with linux would also be great. (i heard linux is picky about hardware…)
