Restart after two minutes during Prime95+Heaven Benchmark dual torture does not necessary mean there is an issue with HDPLEX 400W DC-ATX since the peak power recorded by the meter exceeds 500W (documented in my video). Also, the same dual torture test did benchmark successfully on my platform.
OCP is set at 20A for CPU EPS+PCIExpress 12V rail combined on the 160W DC-ATX.
The design target is to support card like GTX1050 where total system power consumption peak around 200W and avg around 150W during 3D gaming.
I guess it might make it for an underclocked GTX1060.

My engineer suggests this coil whine might due to the high current which exceed the spec of 250W. This peak A the R9 Nano required seems to exceed that of GTX970. I remember GTX970 has short peak going over 20A@12V
I will take some measurements. If the peak is constantly going over 300W-400W...
Got it. I will purchase it this week. So your 250W has coil whine all the time when powering R9 Nano even when not playing game or benchmark correct? I mean as long as the PC is on, it has coil whine, correct?

If my test is showing no coil whine, maybe you have a bad one?
There is no reason why QinX R9 Nano+HDPLEX does not have coil whine while yours does. Also I tested GTX970 on latest HDPLEX 250W, no coil whine...

The height increased from 88mm to 128mm does not significantly add a lot of volume due to the small foot print.
However it opens a lot of possibilities.
The video card could be passively cooled using a thick copper...
