GALAX GTX 1070 KATANA single-slot in stock!

GALAX showed off a single-slot GTX 1070 late last year, but unlike their vaporware single-slot designs from previous GPU generations, this one has actually become reality and is now in stock on GALAX’s web store! The specs on this card are pretty impressive considering the form factor. Despite the smaller heatsink and thinner blower fan compared to normal double-slot thickness cards, the KATANA still ships in a slightly overclocked configuration, with a base clock of 1518MHz and a boost clock of boost clock 1708MHz. The cooling solution looks about as robust as it can get in the limited space available, …

Zotac GTX 1080 Mini now in stock!

Zotac announced the first short GTX 1080 video card at the end of last year and it’s been one of the most discussed video cards on the forum since then, but now it’s here! Amazon has it listed for $720, and shows in stock, with 2 left as of this writing. The price is a bit high, but presumably there’s a bit of price gouging going on since stock is so limited, and it’s being sold via a third-party seller and not Amazon themselves. But that’s the price you pay for having the latest and greatest, right this minute. Hopefully the price will come down …

Gigabyte Sneaks their GTX1050 and 1050TI Cards on to their Website

Thanks to our news tip line (here), we have been advised that Gigabyte has sneakily launched their low profile GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti lines. They both appear to be using the same cooler and rear IO as the venerable GTX 750 Ti (that I myself run). [mks_separator style=”blank” height=”2″] Graphics Processing GeForce® GTX 1050 Core Clock Boost: 1506 MHz/ Base: 1392 MHz in OC Mode Boost: 1468 MHz/ Base: 1366 MHz in Gaming Mode Memory Clock 7008 MHz Memory Size 2 GB Memory Type GDDR5 Memory Bus 128 bit Card Bus PCI-E 3.0 x 16 Output Dual-link DVI-D …

ZOTAC announces the Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini

A new king has been crowned! All hail the Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini (ZT-P10800H-10P), based on the GP104 (Pascal) architecture. Complete with 8GB of GDDR5X and 2560 CUDA cores, this fully configured card packs a wallop! The dual-slot Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini consumes up to 180watts, just 30 Watts more than a GTX 1070. The 8-pin PCIe power plug is located on the top and is not recessed so be sure to account for that additional clearance when planning your next build. To help dissipate this increased heat while keeping the board incredibly small, this card will be equipped with 3 thick copper heatpipes (the 1070 …

Galax shows off a single-slot GTX 1070!

At the GALAXY & NVIDIA Carnival in Wuhan, China, GALAX (what GALAXY goes by in North America) showed off a single-slot GTX 1070. The defining feature is, of course, the fact that the stock heatsink and rear IO is just a single slot in thickness, with what appears to be a pure copper heatsink to compensate for the smaller surface area. Not visible in this picture, but the PCB is about the same length as a reference GTX 1060 with the section of the card with the fan extending past the circuit board. The power connector is a single 8-pin connector, …

MSI has released the GTX 1050 Ti 4GT LP

SFF Forum member NateDawg72 has shared exciting news of MSI’s new low-profile GTX 1050 Ti 4GT LP on the forums. Without official news or any social media announcements, this card appears to have slipped completely under the radar. MSI’s new GTX 1050 Ti 4GT LP card replaces MSI’s aging GTX 750 Ti 2GB LP that was released in November of 2014. This card, like the previous one, is a dual-slot, dual-fan GPU solution with a height of just 69mm. It requires no additional 6/8-pin power (max 75 watts) making it the perfect companion for that slim case with low-profile slots that you have been eyeing. Here are the specifications as …

NVIDIA Users – Hold Off On Updating to 375.57 [UPDATED]

Thinking I was alone in experiencing some very weird issues after installing the 375.57 drivers for my GTX 750 Ti, I went searching the web and found this PCPer post, leading me to the realisation- 375.57 may have been taken out of the oven a little early. NVIDIA released the driver after some WHQL delays (possibly caused by the time of year), claiming optimal performance for Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, and Civilisation 6. However, all is not well. From basic video rendering bugs, to my start menu in Windows 10 locking up when moving a tile, there are a few …

Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC appears

A product page listing has shown up for the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC, a short version of the GTX 1070. This is, to my knowledge, the first short GTX 1070 card we’ve seen, but hopefully not the last! The boost/base clocks on the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC are a bit more conservative than the other non-reference Gigabyte 1070’s due to the small, and thus less-capable, cooler. It clocks in at 1746 MHz/1556 MHz (boost/base) in OC Mode and 1721 MHz/1531 MHz in Gaming Mode. Power delivery is via a single 8-pin connector. The dimensions are 131mm wide and 169mm long, …

Nvidia launches the GTX 950

Today Nvidia is launching the GTX 950, a new mid-range card aimed at the $150 market. While cards like the GTX 980Ti and Fury X grab headlines, this more affordable price bracket is much larger in terms of sales volume and as such is an important launch for Nvidia, considering their previous offering, the 750Ti, is now almost a year and a half old. The GTX 950 uses a slightly cut-down version of GM206, the chip used in the GTX 960, and as such features performance between the 750Ti and 960. For now we’re not seeing any of the AIB …
