And now for something quite different from the norm – schmick looking metal framed 140mm fans from Alphacool. The newly launched addition to the range feature an all metal frame, with a unique curved ‘Apex’ aesthetic. Sadly, the blades are plastic, but overall, these are some seriously cool (heh) looking cooling squares. These new 140mm fans are an addition to the existing 120mm models on sale.
As if the cooling gods heard the many calls, RGB-less options are also listed. Black, chrome and white finishes are available to suit your chosen aesthetic. Alas, for those demanding uber bling, the gold variant from the 120mm range isn’t available.
Featuring a HDB bearing (a different term for Fluid Dynamic Bearing, H for Hydro), vibration de-coupling tech, and a bundle of cable options including the ability to daisy chain your fans, this is a pretty well-rounded product. For the RGB versions, the lighting is of the aRGB flavour, for all the arrrgeebees. 2000 and 2500 RPM options are available. The fans are touted as having a high static pressure, listed at 3.45 mmH2O for the 2500rpm variant, with a peak of 93.9 CFM at 37.6 dBa.
