Digital Foundry Reviews AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE and Finds it Highly Impressive

Rich from Digital Foundry, seen above telling Luke Skywalker that if he will not be turned to the dark side he will be destroyed, has taken a  deep look at the performance and value of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE. Priced at the same $549 price of the RTX 4070, the RX 7900 GRE offers nearly the same performance in Ray Tracing titles, a full 16GB of memory, and rasterization performance well above that of the $599 RTX 4070 Super. It’s one of the most competitive GPU pricing and performance AMD has put out in years, and certainly the most aggressive this generation.

Why didn’t we get it earlier then? It was a Chinese exclusive.

DF does their usual unique deep dive into the card and it’s worth the watch. However, I do caution SFF users that this GPU pulls 260 watts of power. You’re not going to see a lot of smaller card designs with it. Asus is offering a dual fan version though it’s still 280mm long and nearly 2.5 slots wide. Hopefully we’ll see some smaller cards in the future.
