Hello

I was wondering what is the motherboard connector of the USB Type-C front panel port. Is it the new 20-pin connector or the old 19-pin connector from USB 3.0?

Thanks

Hi

The connector is a 20-pin Key A header. Currently it’s far more common on Intel boards and there’s a post here with a list of motherboards with the correct header.

It does look like many of the upcoming B550 boards for AMD Ryzen will include the header.

There are also adapters like this one to convert a 19-pin header, although you won’t get the higher speed that a native 20-pin connector provides.

Oh no edit support.
I meant to say, the AMD ITX board that I am interested in has the 20pin USB connector (as well as the 19pin one).
