OK, confession time...
I bought a couple of ex HP business PC mATX motherboard/CPU/RAM sets the other week for £30/€34/$38 apiece and worked on building them us this weekend.
Exhibit A - H61 mATX/i5 2400s/4GB in mATX tower built up and ready to sell locally
Exhibit B - this is where it all went wrong...
H81 /i3 4130/8GB/120GB SSD/GTX660
HP motherboard was being fussy with plugged in (or not) peripherals, and wouldn't stop throwing up F1 to boot POST messages.
It is now in the attic in the free case with the HP PSU that were thrown in with it.
I wanted to build a quick and dirty cheapo rig for a friend's son to join us on PUBG squads with.
It'll be a loaner for a bit until we get some other components that I don't want to keep.
The SFX PSU looks a bit lost in there, as does the poor little [nameless form factor] cheapskate "mATX" motherboard.
AFAIK it's not Flex or mDTX, just "ITX a bit deeper with one more (useable) PCIe slot slipped in above the 16x slot.
The case BTW is an old friend, a modded Silverstone TJ08 with a Toughbook alloy handle and dodgy paintjob.
It was my second LAN case, having had my SG05 commandeered for home PC duty.
The TJ08 was followed by a Parvum ITX and most recently an SG13, which has just been retired in favour of a scruffy used (3rd owner) but hugely welcome silver NCase M1
