Lol, I ran a Q6600, HD5870 and 4x 3.5" HDD in raid for years, out of a Corsair HX520

Not if you are planning to add other vards later, but basicaly users never add anything. I'm on mATX since 2007 and it is a good compromise.

I can't run mITX since I do hate embedded audio chipset and by extension use dedicated "PRO" audio card. Had an M-Audio 2496 with my Q6600 and I'm lurking at an ESI Maya 44XTe since PCI slots are a thing of the past on most motherboard now. Budget is just not there .

LOL even my Ncase M1 has an ODD. Not that I need it or use it, but it prevents dust from entering through the cut-out. Yes that's why I have it.

This is going to be more than a weekend project as all stages will be on a dedicated board (Digital stage PSU, Analog stage PSU, DAC, I/V gain stage). Thus I'll be able to try different things and make evolution easy.

I'm also willing to try my JAN Phillips 6418 subminiature tubes. Those can be considered as SFF vacuum tubes (30mm):

Nixie tubes are cool. I'll do a shot of the subminiature tubes side by side with my EL34 tubes. The laters are for a valve guitar amp project. I'll stop hi-jacking the thread now as this is a little off-topic.

im pretty sure i have an L3470, 8GB DDR3 & 6 WD SE HDD's on a 350w power supply. NFI if itsw efficient but i do know its not quiet
