While I'm not familiar with either CPU, I highly doubt you'll notice a difference in temps, simply by switching to the Skyreach... It IS a great case though.

1. ...what terminal does it have to connect to the brick?
2. GPU orientation
Hey @Josh | NFC ,
When you did your testing with the 8700K, and 1080 Mini, did you leave everything at stock voltage, or did you play around with the power at all?
For those of you that have undervolted, did you see a drop in overall wattage for your systems? I think I may do some power manipulation on my current set up this weekend, to see if I can bring the voltage down a bit without losing processing capability and make everything a little bit more efficient. I'm pretty sure my room mate has a Kill A Watt lying around the house some where, so I should be able to see whether or not there is a difference in what I do.
I haven't actually checked power consumption at the wall, so can't help you there, but here are my thoughts...
I hope I've explained this in a manner that can be understood, good luck with the build, I really like the wrap you've used.
In the BIOS, set IA AC load line and IA DC load line = 0.01
I don't really see the need for de-liding or undervolting an i5-8400
Not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but I managed to comfortably fit a Noctua A9x14 fan on the SkyBracket Duo alongside my 2TB Firecuda mounted behind the GPU. I’m using a Gigabyte 1080 mini.
I added it as an exhaust fan in hopes it would help lower my CPU temps, which I have been struggling with, especially while playing GTA V.
How did it turn out? Have your temps been lowered from adding the fan.
After a 45min session of GTA V the CPU was still hitting 95C.
I have tried re-seating the CPU heatsink to no avail.
I think the issue is hot air from the GPU being bounced off the front bezel and back into the case and then being recirculated by the Noctua L9i. My plan is to order a bezel from Josh with the SkySlots to help get the hot air out of the case.
Other games like WoW and Forza 7 only cause the CPU to hit ~65C.
I was having the same problem, but mostly under gpu stress load. Does it restart even just at idle, or during cpu stress load, or gpu stress load?I hooked everything up tonight, but am having issues. The PC continuously restarts, and it seems like it does it at random times. I've tried keeping an eye on temps and wattage though Hardware Monitor, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Everything worked before I went to the HDPLEX and brick setup, so I know it's not the main components. Is there a way that I can test the brick?

Agreed that this is frustrating.I'm still running tests, to see if I can replicate the restart consistently... Nothing solid though. I'll let you know what I find, if I can actually come to a conclusion. It's frustrating though.
How hard would it be to remove the white paint and would the surface underneath still look OK?
