Hi
I've repurposed my first SFF build to make an SG05 Silverstone case a 2 bays NAS.
From this:
To this:
Motherboard: Asrock J3455-ITX
CPU: Intel Quadcore J3455 (imbedded)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 500 (integrated)
RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM
Storage: 2x 4TB HDD + 64GB SSD
PSU: Silverstone 300W ST30SF V1
LAN: 1x GB
The 2nd HDD is attached to the upper one with 4 vibration dumpers, easy mod!
I just replaced the Silverstone front fan with a slimm 15mm one so that it doesn't touch the vibration dumper.
I want to keep it simple, so I am going to make a RAID 1 with the two 4TB HDDs on Ubuntu server.
I will then make regular backups on several external HDDs for safety.
Next step is to have a look at power consumption and maybe improve it by replacing the PSU with a Pico one.
