The 11.6” model is made for consoles, they have a version for Xbox one, PS4 and Xbox One X.
I guess you can use it as a stand alone monitor the PS4 model anyway.

How? I have a surface that I use for portable computing right now. When I have a travel size pc, I would love to use it as a monitor.
I will chime in and add that use my Surface Pro 4 as an external monitor via NVIDIA Gamestream, a gigabit ethernet USB adapter and recoilable cable, a 4K 60 Hz headless adapter, and Moonlight. As for the trick to stream at the Surface's native resolution, I modified Moonlight's index.html file like so below to add an additional option (I call it Surface QHD) for the Surface's native resolution (2736x1824). I also added a custom display resolution option matching my Surface's resolution in my NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti's display settings on the desktop.

---

Quick question: Has anyone tried this HDR 4K portable monitor by Electric Magic? It looks pretty solid based on the reviews.

I have been looking for so long, seven years, indeed, for a monitor and stand which can fit in a carry on, is full HD and no smaller than 19". I have settled on the LL-S201A but gosh, how can I recommend that when it's so expensive? And the stand is still a problem.

Look at the http://www.sceptre.com/overview-496.html it's a 21.5" diagonal with the whole shebang being 19.56” x 11.49” x 1.22”. This is, indeed, carry on sized, the second dimension is the biggest problem usually but below 12" is probably not a problem, the AOC e2351f was 21.7"x13.5" for example and that doesn't fit anywhere. And look, VESA mount! And only 12V @ 2A which can be done with a very very small and cheap adapter if the shipped one is too big. And has digital input. Ticks all the boxes and only costs 100 bucks on Amazon.

The stand is still not solved.

As for stand, it'd be incredible if we could find this stand from Yiynova https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41U+f7mu8fL.jpg the newer version which I have is https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-VESA-stand-for-YiyNova-15-19-22-Tablet-/122213620734 available but not cheap. However, I found https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0VNIA9/?tag=theminutiae-20 which will probably double the weight of the monitor :( and require some additional purchases from eBay to replace all the screws with thumbscrews but it'd be definitely one of the more stable stands one could buy and even the longest piece is only 14", compare the sizing https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71lwNisL5TL._SL1500_.jpg image to https://m.media-amazon.com/images/S.../fSvCQsRHCB._CR0,77,3311,1883_UX300_TTW__.jpg this show of parts -- and it would lift the monitor off the table which is rare for a portable stand. Finally the Ergomart Limbo might be an option but I do not how easy it is to make it completely flat for travel https://www.ebay.com/itm/292515453398 . It is possible this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/x/32814637118.html would fit -- the center line is claimed to be 6.7" so the 12" high monitor would fit. I have no idea how stable it would be when it's only 6.3" wide, however.

I tried a mic tripod and the results were not satisfactory. It would need to be much wider however the K&M 19685 is a good start if anyone wants to experiment with this. There's also https://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_vesa_stand_mount.htm but I do not know where to get it in North America, the K&M is relatively widely available.

What is the suggested monitor these days for real basic easy transport for LAN parties:

1) USB powered
2) Accepts HDMI or some other standardized video input
3) Does not need to have speakers
4) 1080P or above

Looking to pair this with an NCASE M1

I dunno about USB powered but there's plenty of raspberry pi displays that are 1080p and definitely have higher refresh rates than we might expect.

I am also trying to find a display exactly like the one you are looking + 15.6 inch and if this is an option touch screen, so I looked at these

which are the 15.6 inch screens from this link https://shop57714512.world.taobao.com/
However, I can't really understand how the inputs work. Can these displays be power of a regular pc usb or usb c or usb 3.1 or something? From the translated descriptions I can not really figure out. If there is someone with some knowledge here or anyone who has even bought one of these o_O

It helps make it portable since it makes it so that your pc only needs one outlet to function, but a wall wart for the lcd isn't such a terrible thing, you'll most likely be able to find a pair of outlets.

DIY'ing an ipad LCD + Abusemark adapter is a DP+USB power option, though it's a little small.

If it's type C I expect it to be powered by type C. The last linked says, per Google Translate "The display supports TYPE-C 5V USB3.0 or 5V charging treasure power supply.". Since it ships with an 5V 2A wall wart and USB C can supply up to 3A I do not see a problem. I would also expect it to be single cable and it to use DisplayPort Alt Mode USB C.

Some USB power supplies are compatible with QuickCharge 2.0 / 3.0 and one can get a QC trigger for three bucks so you can power those monitors here that require 12V (and power your phone on the side as well -- I like the new Xiaomi USB C + USB A QC + 4 USB A 60W charger). However, most (all?) wall warts only support 12V @ 1.5A and many linked here ship with a 12V @ 3A brick. It doesn't mean, however, the monitor will actually consume 36W, that's preposterous for a LED backlit monitor this small. You need to ask the actual peak power consumption.

Possibly http://budgetlightforum.com/node/61164 could be used to coax 12V 3A out of a USB C PD adapter of sufficiently high wattage.

Finally, you'd need a USB A to 5.5mm jack cable that's again a <5 USD part.

So it seems like all the USB powered monitors in the 13-15" range @ 1080P are also video and power delivery over USB. Not too many ITX motherboards support this, especially not AMD B450 or my older Intel Z79 chipset.

Would love to find one that is USB powered with display port or HDMI input for under $200.

The GeChic 1503H is pretty much this, except the lowest I have seen it for sale is $250, and it does have about 10-15ms of latency.

I'm not sure that's totally true. For example, the last link @alexbene posted above has both Type-C input as well as two HDMI inputs. In fact, I think most of them do something like that.

Sure, but as posted by @chx it looks like there are a lot of gotchas with the possibility of needing a USB-C 3Amp port to power them. I'd like to just use a regular old USB-A to USB-C adapter from a motherboard's rear I/O to power it.

Also, no one seems to have any experience or definitive answers for the displays @alexbene posted

Thanks this looks great but is currently selling for $350, I'll keep my eye on it!

The Elecrow is exactly that. 1080p, 13.3", usb powered, hdmi input, and it's 150 usd.
