I ordered Magedok's 1080p 13" usb portable monitor from amazon, and it came in today. Initial impressions is that it is built very well, and I would give the ips display about a B in terms of color quality and brightness. I wish it was powered via usb-c rather than micro usb, but there is a newer version of this monitor that is 1440p at 13" that is $45 more, and I got this for $120, and at that price i'm super happy with my investment.

@b0bby199, or anyone who has this or a similar device, how did you guys go about mounting it with a vesa stand? There are 4 x 75mm square holes on the back, but it has no threading in the holes, the monitor did not come with any screws, and the only directions I have found for vesa mounting this monitor is to use 4x "M4*6 screws." Anyone have any insights?

If this was 15.6" it would be nearly perfect. That 5ms response time is also very good. Almost all the Gechics I have been looking at are 12ms +
Kinda what I was thinking on the 13" vs 15" but I said 13"-15" so I can't complain. It's cheap enough I may buy it just to play around.

Friends show up to a LAN party with a 5 year old 'gaming' laptop, I'll be showing up with a full quad core CPU and Vega56 in a Ncase M1 or a 2400G APU in something even smaller!

Do you have a linkto the magedok? I can’t find it. $120 sounds like a steal.

@Pedro I was considering that, but I've never heard of that brand which led me to get the magedok 13"

But now that I have the 13", I think a 15" monitor would be much better.

This is probably what I am settling on

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SIBOLAN-S1...ith-HDMI-input-/183359817712?oid=183332849491

17.3" 2560×1440 QHD IPS
USB-C for Power
Mini-HDMI or Display port for Video

I have no idea what Sibolan quality is going to be but I haven't found any other options for 17"-19" usb-c powered monitors with better than 1080p resolution. I was trying to hold out for the ASUS PROART PQ22UC but it seems like they are never going to release it.

^ While I don’t have that model, I do have the sibolan s4 1080p@60hz and It’s actually a pretty good screen. Was worried about the amazon reviews but I like it. I wish I had seen this though, mighty tempting.

Edit: Man..... wish I had waited a couple months and picked that model instead. I hope it performs well for you @aschafer14

That Sibolan S17 has some nice specs. Not sure if a 17" screen would be too big to lug around. I will have to check my LAN bags size to see if something that big would fit.

The only concern I’d have is if it’s a TN or an IPS panel. But it does look pretty sweet.
