I have a FHD 240hz G-Story portable monitor I got on amazon. it actually works great. Very hard still to source a proper 240hz portable monitor even today. I don't think I could even find a second one to buy anywhere if I looked.

But I looked and found this: https://magedok-shop.myshopify.com/...itor-with-usb-c-hdmi-mini-dp-input-mg156-qt01

Anyone know if this is legit?

I saw a review for a MageDok 15 inch (https://www.notebookcheck.net/MageDok-15-Portable-Monitor-Review.433570.0.html) but this reiew is for an older model. The main problem with that one in the review is abysmal brightness.

So I'd like to know if this one:

- has ok brightness
- has G-sync? a man can dream. Or has Freesync?
- actually has displayport input for real. This is a problem I have with my G-story. If i use it with my Nvidia card it will NOT get G-Sync even though it supposedly is supported. This is because it does not work over HDMI and it's literally impossible to find a full size displayport male to USB-C out. There are hundreds of cables that go in the opposite direction however (to allow you to drive a displayport monitor from a macbook for example)

So since it seems like I can only buy this (as yet unknown quantity) MageDok here from their shopify store i dont know how painful it would be to return it if it comes up short for any reason.

i quite like these monitors because it allows me to set up multi monitor setups with my macbook, which is great for productivity, and they are also quite useful for gaming with a steam deck or SFF PC. And I want to eventually use them with my workstation to further expand that wall of displays, I would just need to make a suitable platform or mount to position them for that. These things are really very useful.
