SFF Time P-ATX v4 (16th June 2026) : Is a new legend born?

With the recent pre-release of the SFF Time P-ATX v4 I wanted to test it, in direct competition to my beloved Cerberus-X. Thanks to @riba2233 for his dedication to develop & build such cases!
Compared to my previous SFFTime experience (N-ATX v2 and U-ITX v1), P-ATX represents the middle ground, 11L.compatible with 63mm CPU coolers and 360mm long GPU.
The main improvements are :
Here is the setup I decided to put inside the P-ATX v4 :
As I'm using an Intel socket with a motherboard with a 6-layers pcb, I was able to fit a Noctua NH-L9x65 with still a 5mm clearance including the side panel, clearly enough to avoid any major air turbulence.
Here are some photos of the 2 setups, related to the NH-L9x65 orientation and fan selection.
The NH-L9x65 is capable of sustaining 270K while using 130W-160W (Cinebench 2024 or shaders compilation), depending on the ambient temperature. I also need to measure the impact of changing the fans as the NF-A9x14 has 2 versions : 2700 rpm or 2200rpm. I prefer by far the 2200rpm version as the motor noise is significantly lower vs the 2700 version, even at the same RPM. For example, I can allow the 2200 to spin at 100%, whereas the 2700 is limited to 60% (1900rpm). At last I would also need to also test the impact of the orientation of the fins/heatpipes...but it would have to wait. Overall this Noctua NH-L9x65 is impressing me, compared to my terrible souvenirs inside the Node 202.
What about CPU-GPU combined performance ?
To answer this difficult question I decided to use 007 First Light, during the night club mission. While using DLAA, this crowdy area is demanding on both the RTX 5090 (480W-505W) and the 270K (100-120W).
Here is the result, with pretty high ambient temperature of 29°C :
The RTX 5090 FE is sitting within the high seventies, low eighties (max is 82.8°C), however its fan speed is reaching only 1721 rpm (54%), which is acceptable in this setup.
The 270K+ is sitting in the high eighties or low nineties (max is 95.5°C) and the fan speed is reaching its max, ie 2325rpm on a regular basis. As previously stated, having this fan, NF-A9x14 2200, spinning at its max, is not bothering me.
DDR5 is reaching 75°C max , a similar temperature as my main SSDs (70°C, 74°C, 59°C).
Also, note that, once the load is down, the setup is cooling down almost immediately on all components, translating there is no hot air trapped inside the case!
As you are starting to know me, the most important factor remains the noise of my setup. On this point, the P-ATX v4 is ok, maybe a bit louder than the Cerberus-X under load...but not that much. Of course, on idle, the RTX 5090 FE fanless mode is not eternal (unlike the Cerberus-X with 2x fans blowing on it) but the back fan is helping a lot to keep it significantly longer than on my FormD T1.
I want to insist that there is no noticeable air turbulence noise from the GPU, unlike the FormD T1 with the RTX 5090 FE with offset mode.
In conclusion the P-ATX v4 is proving very comfortable to use, either on idle, or while heavy gaming sessions. I'll continue to use/test it, even with the hot summer coming..

The main improvements are :
- Steel frame, including all the screw threads
- 3D printed parts improving the experience :
- PSU bracket with easier handling
- Very significantly improved stand, holding firmly, easier to put on and off. It is also completely independent of side panels.
- The best, so far, GPU riser bracket. Easy to assemble, easy to adjust GPU thickness, even while in position inside the case.
- The GPU locking mechanism is pretty good and maintain the GPU in firm position

- CPU Cooler : Noctua NH-L9x65, Fins towards the Top, 1xNF-A9x14 (2200rpm model) as intake
- RTX 5090 FE : Undervolted (MSI Afterburner)
