More options in the power supply market is always a good thing, especially when they are in the true SFX form factor, for extra smol. Lian Li has unveiled their SP V2 fully modular power supplies, in both 750 and 850 Watt variants, with options of a black or white appearance. Both versions are 80 Plus Gold rated. I’ll be honest here – 750W and 850W are so close in actual use case, I can’t see a valid reason for running all four SKUs instead of a pair of 850W variants.
The power supplies conform to SFX12V 4.0 (equivalent to ATX 3.1) – with one caveat. The pair of 12V-2×6 can only supply 450 Watts, in comparison to the full ATX 3.1 spec’s 600W.
Both models offer a 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin EPS, two 6+2 pin PCIe power, 1x 12V-2×6, 7x SATA power, and a lone Molex for those old skool devices. The unit is cooled by a 92 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan. I’m not sure who the OEM is for this power supply, but I’m sure one of our fantastic community members will chime in below with the answer...

It's a miss only including two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, the high power AMD GPUs still use three.

Is 850W going to be enough for one of those anyway?
I know we push the boundaries in SFF rigs, but there are limits to what power hungry and silly hot components you can use /2p or 2 of your chosen small denomination currency units

Yes, for sure. The OC versions of the 9070 XT use 3 PCIe power connectors, they draw around 310W and 350W depending on model. The AIBs generally recommend 750W to 850W PSU.

The concern about wattage numbers is less about: does a GPU use X amount of power, but more about: how does a GPU behave in extreme situations? eg. the sudden peaks and power spikes noted in Nvidia 4000-gen GPUs?

The next important question related to this topic is: how well are the V2 PSUs gonna perform in these regards, compared to the first releases? Hopefully they get tested at Cybenetics, or HW Buster is gonna test one of them after release, or if very lucky, TechPowerUp - but they seem to be a bit too busy these days 🥹🙏
