More Vega Nano News!

With Drew and Tim’s exclusive photo-op earlier, our appetite was whetted for more news on the Vega Nano. Drew and Tim are very persistent reporters though, and managed to track down more exclusive information and pictures for Small Form Factor Network. What have we learnt? The card has a typical board power of 150 watts (GPU, vRAM, but excluding cooling solution), and uses an 8 pin plug for power. The card features a single fan, and single slot rear IO, much like the previous Radeon Nano. The brushed shroud is rather attractive, and includes the cube corner that we have come …

ZOTAC announces two GTX 1080 Ti Mini’s!

Not that long ago we reviewed ZOTAC’s GTX 1080 Mini, which set a new bar for SFF GPU horsepower, yet now they’ve outdone themselves by cramming the even beefier GTX 1080 Ti into the same form factor! TechPowerUP has more details, but from the renders we can glean that this new model uses the same heatsink and shroud as the GTX 1080 Mini, so the overall dimensions should be the same at 211mm x 125mm. If the renders are accurate (keep in mind the renders should be taken with a grain of salt), the PCB extends a bit farther on the GTX 1080 …

Inno3D Reveals Single Slot GTX1050

Hot on the heels of some low profile and single slot GT1030s from MSI and Gigabyte, Inno3D has gone one better – a single slot GTX1050! Inno3D has specc’d the card with a base clock of 1290MHz, with boost to 1392 MHz. 4GB of GDDR5, running at 7Gbps effective speed, connect to the GPU’s 768 CUDA cores on a 128bit bus for 168.2 GB/s bandwidth, which is pretty par for the course nowadays. The card is 211mm long, and 99.8mm height, but the party piece here is the cooler.. single slot! I hope Inno3D brings this card to the western …

GT1030s Appear from MSI and Gigabyte

NVIDIA’s first ‘new’ sub **50 cards in an age (since the GT210/610, etc were just rebrands!) have started to appear, with both MSI and Gigabyte showing off some interesting variants of the GPU intended to compete with AMD’s RX-550 line. All are based on NVIDIA’s Pascal GP108-300 core, produced on a 16nm FinFET process. Each card has 384 CUDA cores, 24 TMUs and 8 ROPs. Also identical across the cards is the RAM- 2GBs of DDR5 1750MHz (7000MHz effective), with 56GB/s bandwidth. GPU clock speeds have yet to be announced, But I expect the active cooled variants to be clocked …

An In Depth Review of the ZOTAC 1080 Mini

We would like to thank ZOTAC for providing us with a review sample of their ZOTAC 1080 Mini. Without their generosity, this graphics card review would not be possible. Originally announced back in December of 2016, showcased at CES, and then released in January, the ZOTAC 1080 Mini is the veritable King of graphics cards among SFF enthusiasts. At present, there doesn’t exist a single more powerful GPU capable of fitting into the some of the smallest chassis around. Below are a few resources that ZOTAC was kind enough to provide for use in creating this review: ZOTAC 1080 Mini Landing Page ZOTAC 1080 Mini Product Page ZOTAC …

XFX has announced two single-slot AMD RX 460 graphics cards.

Following just after the announcement of the HIS RX 460 Slim-iCooler OC on the 24th, VideoCardz has shared that XFX has two new single-slot AMD RX 460 graphics cards coming to the Small Form Factor market. Both Polaris 11 based cards will use AMD’s reference clock speeds and will operate on a maximum of 75 watts, requiring no additional power. XFX will offer a 2GB and a 4GB variant, and based off the screenshots below, both cards appear to be using the same robust aluminum heatsink as the one used on the HIS RX 460. We weren’t able to find the exact dimensions of the card but TechPowerUP! states that the …

Gigabyte Launches a Unique GTX970

In the SFF world, the bane of our existence is heat. We find many creative ways to exhaust the watts of heat our hardware put out, from adding extra vents to crazy fan combinations. Constantly fighting us, however, is the general trend of GPU manufacturers insisting that having open style coolers on the cards is a good thing. All this does is add even more heat to our already sauna-like systems. Gigabyte has blown this trend with a new card – the GV-N970TTOC-4GD – with a blower style cooler! The Gigabyte GTX970 Twin Turbo has a blower fan which pulls air from …
