PC cooling manufacturer Spire has introduced a new line of cooling fans – the ‘CLEARSTAR’ series. This product line adds to Spire’s large existing range of fan models.
Spire’s proprietary Nano-Tech bearing is featured in this line, which they claim is quieter than traditional sleeve or ball bearing fans. Specially designed blades have been shaped and balanced to move more air and reduce noise, as well as produce more air pressure.
Two models are available at launch, the SP14025NTL3-B-LED is equipped with 4 bright blue LED’s, and the SP14025NTL3/4 which does not include LEDs. Both models are 140mm in diameter.
All the new CLEARSTAR fans are built with a ‘Nano-tech’ bearing made from nano-zirconia powder as the core material and a special nano-particle lubricant to promote a MTBF. The claimed MTBF is more than 70,000 HRS. Spire says that the Nano-bearings are quieter than Ball-bearings (2-3dBA) and are also far easier to assemble (possible leading to lower production costs). The CLEARSTAR fans do not have retention clips, so the blade assembly can be pushed out of the frame easily for cleaning. The CLEARSTAR DC fans are supplied in a ECO friendly retail-box, including 4 metal mounting screws and supported by a 2 year warranty.
* Large size, moves more air at lower speed
* Nano-Tech bearing: less friction, easy start up
* Silent (less noise than sleeve/hydro- and ball-bearing fans)
* Lower start voltage at 3.8V+ where generic fans start from 5V+
* Curved fan blade design for higher air pressure
* Longer life time, 70.000 up to 80.000 life hours
* Easy release of fan impeller for dust cleaning
* 4 metal mounting screws included
