Gone is the Fatal1ty tag on ASRock's premium gaming boards (about time too imo). Those boards are now rebranded "Phantom Gaming".

i9 9900k is listed as 666 Singapore currency (US$ equivalent 479.99).
This could be my wishful thinking but it does look believable.
that price already includes tax and overseas import ._. I did a bit of napkin maths and it's around USD423.6, before shipping and tax

the SRP is definitely not $480, otherwise anyone selling at that price here would essentially be paying out of pocket for tax and shipping and get $0 in profit for the item itself.

This pic was leaked by Silicon Lottery, they have since changed prices to $0. This looks like very possible prices for both CPUs.

US$ 479 for i9 9900K sounds Ok to me. I was expecting 499.
Looks like Intel is not pricing as aggressively as Nvidia's pricing of 2080/2080Ti.

Looks like double capacity memory will be supported, but the implementation looks weird.

Also really hope ASRock (or someone else) keeps/puts thunderbolt on one of their boards. If not, I’ll will buy Z370 instead to get my external storage array working.

What did the price of the 8700k and 8086k look like three to four months after launch? I know there was a period of time where the 8700k was very hard to find, but i'm curious how long it took for the price to start to lower.

Also, do you suspect that 14mm shortages will curtail price drop off? How much are CPU price changes predicated on the fall of consumer excitement and how much is on basic supply and demand?

i9 9900K was spotted at Amazon for US$ 582! This is 21% higher than the expected $479.
I wonder if this is reflecting the increased price due to the tariff (1st Oct initially and 1st Jan 2019 subsequently) or is just a 'mark-up' due to high demand/low supply on launch?
https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amazon-listing-intel-core-i9-9900k-with-dandy-packaging.html

If it is the latter, then it is worldwide and everyone is affected.
If it is the former, it only affects the US consumers but not the rest of the world, more or less?

I read that Z390 motherboards will be available on 8th Oct and CPUs will follow 2 weeks later on 19th/20th Oct.

Saw that price and the goofy package earlier as well. That price really does sting a bit but is to be expected. As for tariffs, I thought those chips were made in the U.S. so they shouldn't have a tariff should they?

IIRC, Intel CPUs are made in Malaysia and China (and perhaps Costa Rica in the earlier years too?).
Anyway, we will find out the actual retail price very soon in a couple weeks. I am excited as my new build will be the 9900K and Asus Z390i Gaming.
The box has twelve pentagons. So, it is not an octagon as I originally thought.

That octagonal package is surely a marketing gimmick to link its 8-side shape to the 8-core mainstream processor.

In which case you gonna build?

Would any of you lot put this thing (i9) in a Dan A4/Louqe with air cooling?

Only if I could put the A4 in a refrigerator after I got everything installed ;)

.... seriously I don’t think I would but maybe after some firsthand reviews and builds coming out could change my mind.

Gone off amazon now.... missed it I guess.
Edit: Newegg ain’t showing it either. But multiple tech news outlets are reporting it.
