If you aren't familiar with SFFTime's U-ITX case, check it out here: https://smallformfactor.net/forum/t...ight-console-case-that-fits-3slot-gpus.18563/

I was posting sporadically in the discussion but figured it was time to consolidate updates into a single build post since I cleaned up the cable positioning and have it in a working state :D

The U-ITX in one of its unofficial configurations can fit a full sized ATX motherboard. That coupled with some nostalgic systems I've kept from 20+ years ago led me to work on this build.

Specs:
MSI K7T Turbo2 (Socket A/462 VIAKT133A based)
Athlon XP 1900+
Athlon XP stock cooler with replaced 60x60x10mm fan (4k rpm Sunon)
512MB PC133 SDRAM (256+2x128)
Matrox Mystique 2MB PCI
Intel 82557 10/100 PCI
Samsung 128GB PM810 with SATA->IDE 40p adapter, powered by SATA 7p-> 4p USB 5v cable

Quirks and notes of interest:

The motherboard was modded to enable its ISA slot (ref ), but I'm currently unable to use it in this case configuration.

The motherboard is interesting in that it's a narrow ATX form factor (full length, but less wide than normal ATX/M-ATX, 305mm x 210mm instead of 305 x 244mm). It's also what led me to believe it would fit well with a FlexATX PSU turned sideways (80mm+210mm < the case 305mm)

The system uses a FlexATX PSU which is not an official configuration (@PVC might appreciate that it's a Delta DPS-350AB-12😂) . You can see in the 4th picture that it is mounted using one of the SFX mounting positions and the other side is secured with a silicon washer under a metal washer and an M3 screw that I cut to length to reach the stand offs.
I'm using a 24p ATX short extension which I de-pinned and re-pinned to a 20p ATX connector. I also repurposed/depinned an EPS12v/CPU 8p extension to get the 4p.

Originally I wanted to fit an Intel VS440FX with Pentium Pro 200. While it does fit the PSU would hover slightly over the motherboard

Sourcing the right PCI riser(s) is/was a challenge. I'm making the one I currently have (https://www.ebay.com/itm/256719772426) work by rigging the PCI cards upside down.
I also found that the riser I had produced IRQ conflicts but only with certain PCI cards (I wanted to use an Intel 82559 card that had a PXE bootrom available). The same upside-down setup should work if I decide to put the 440FX/PPro system back in the case.

Next steps:
I ordered 2 standalone PCI risers with a longer ribbon cable (https://www.ebay.com/itm/145134686173). that should fit. If not, I may try to use one of them just to extend the dual port riser so I can put the cards back rightside-up.

Also going to order a black slot cover so it will look slightly more pleasing. The third slot unfortunately is unusable, as you can see the motherboard's actual expansion slots block it.

Wishlist:
-an AGP riser. I have a Voodoo 5 5500 64MB AGP card that could fit with the flex PSU mounted up top. But these are even more rare and probably more fickle than any PCI riser. I may look for a fancier PCI card instead like a final generation Matrox Millennium G450.
-a custom ISA riser. It would need to make some serious 90 degree turns and I would have to give up the NIC slot. But I have an AWE64 Gold with 28MB expansion intended for the slot.
-a low profile PCI ethernet adapter with "dongle" to relocate the RJ45 jack to the rear IO panel. I think this one will work if I cut an RJ45 extension and solder it to the pins (https://www.ebay.com/itm/324460497659 plus https://www.ebay.com/itm/387398705510)

The AGP riser has a possibility from here https://www.moddiy.com/products/AGP...CeZyqoryRDAVUFzIwORKKx6l7vPVq1ILwmxqxu7WQcUIf but it likely won’t be able to handle the 90degree bend. I may end up keeping the upside card orientation and figure out how to customize the PCI brackets instead.

For the ISA riser there are some DIY options (vogons forum has good leads) but again right-side up orientation would be difficult. I could start with this on the motherboard side https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/cG4aZUEg

I could also consider modding the case itself to accommodate card brackets instead either orientation. It seems like it should be possible but I hesitate to mod an expensive and lovely case 😅

For the cost of a fancy PCIE riser:

$90 for one, that might work without modification :D https://www.douglaspcb.com/media/spec_data/W-67.pdf

Fit test placement Need to find my soft measuring tape to see if the AGP riser would reach....
