Does anybody think there is any hope for a new graphics cards to fit in this case?” I absolutely love my Mi-6, so I’m really sad to see the huge power consumption of the new RTX 3000 cards. I’m starting to wonder how long it will be until I can find an upgrade for my GTX1080.

A short form 3070 should be out a few months after release. The reference board is short so it should not take long for other companies to slap a small cooler for it.

Best case would be that we get a 3070 from Zotac or Gigabyte. I think we will see 3060s from all the normal players.

My concern is more on the TDP (and heat) instead of the board size ?

In the past, we haven’t seen ITX cards exceed 210 watts or there about on 2 slot single fan cooling. I think for this gen we’ll see 3060 class cards, but nothing above that. Of course I can see the 3060 matching the 2080, so that’s not too bad.

Not sure if everyone has seen it, but Noctua is making a Ghost S1 version of the L12S which comes in at 66mm.

I got one of those coolers. Can’t get a Ghost anymore though. LOL.

The L12S does fit in the MI6 though. I have one in mine.

Yeah I couldn't remember if it was this case that some users had problems fitting it or not, so figured I'd share it anyways.
I think I'm going to throw together a new build in my Mi-6, not sure which CPU I'm going to go with.

I think someone had an issue with an AMD build, but I can’t confirm it. Might just be a false memory.

Are they coming out with a Ghost S1 version of the L12S, or were you referring to the Ghost S1 version of the L12 they released back in June of this year? If they really are releasing a shorter version of the L12S, that would be awesome!

Most likely we want see anny 3070 itx?? though a 3060 @2080super preformance? or something from AMD?

I'm not sure such thing will exists in single-fan, 2-slots form factor.

The PCB size is small enough, yes. But the wattage & temperature are high it's hard to properly manage the heat.

Edit: to be fair, when you're using MI-6 (or other small-ish cases like NFC S4, Lazer 3D LZ7 etc), you more or less understand that you're ready to trade performance to achieve (smaller) volume.

The RTX 2070 is 175W and the RTX 3070 is 220W, probably too much for a single fan cooler. The RTX 3060 Ti will be 180W and I think that will likely be the highest performing itx we will see.

The historical limit for 1 fan axial coolers is about 210 watts with 180 being the more common limit. It’s certainly possible to run the fan fast and loud, but you approach diminishing returns. It could happen though.

I think we will see RTX 2080 / 5700XT level performance in next gen ITX cards. That’s about twice as fast as my 1070 I’m using in my MI-6 now. 1440P / 1080P in new games will run well. 4K for older titles.

The 3000 series GPUs are simply big and hot. I had to go back to a 40L+ ATX to get both the thermals and sound level acceptable in my main rig due to the cards size. Even then, I’m limited to a 295mm GPU which is still causing me issues...

The reviews on 6700 are inconclusive at the moment, but I agree that there's a hope on the red team side.

I know you meant 6800 but I’m going to be that guy.... 6700 hasn’t been announced yet.
