I know the official clearance for GPU length is 190mm. Inno3D just released the RTX 2070 Twin X2 which is 196mm long. I wonder if this GPU would still fit?

I just checked, and there is 193.2mm average distance. I have not seen any detailed pics of the gpu yet, but maybe there is a bit of plastic that can be trimmed off the end of the gpu. Have to wait for more pics I guess to see.

Maybe built-in room for 215mm GPU?

I think that would be a good move @firewolfy, make it compatible with the Zotac minis.

I personally think that moving to support longer GPU will bring the case to Dan A4 area. There's obvious benefit in supporting longer GPU but there will be sacrifice in volume as well as more competition.

Yeah, increasing the volume may put it into the A4, Ghost, Lazer realm. But a lot of us want to run high-end hardware, and the case won't fit the 20-series GPUs. If they come out in mini sizes less than 190mm (I'm looking at you Gigabyte), then the case would be sweet just as it is.

196mm long, but i wonder how much of it is shroud

Increasing the chassis by one inch in depth should give the volume needed to fit any of the 212mm Zotac Mini GPUs (1060 / 1070 / 1080 / 1080 Ti) & the new 196mm RTX 2070... And I would bet the Zotac Mini RTX 2080 & RTX 2080 Ti might come in at 212mm as well...?

Increasing by 1" should yield a 215mm+ long envelope for the GPU...?

And I REALLY do not think any would see this as competition for the A4 / Ghost / etc. style chassis, as it will still be unable to fit full length GPUs...

Such a minor chassis stretch may also allow fitting a Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM fan in the bottom; more air in, cooler components...!

Honestly, if you decide to revise to fit the Zotac Mini series of GPUs, increasing the height ever so slightly would also allow fitting a matching NF-A12x15 fan up top as exhaust, without needing to add a Loft (and the attending seams/lines in the outer housing that take away from the casual elegance of the chassis)...

Bumping the depth by 25mm or so & the height by 15mm or so should keep it right around 8 liters, maybe just a smidge over...

Just got a new quote from the fabrication shop. Looks like there should be a way to kick off a production batch with the orders we have now, and don't have to get to 75.
Gotta run the numbers, but should be able to finalize and figure out any tradeoffs this evening. Woo hoo!

I literally just made an account to say "woo hoo" (I've ordered 4 cases; 2 of each style for home & work). Was getting worried production would be postponed indefinitely after the long wait since missing out on the initial release. Very much appreciate the work you put into this product!

Great to hear we can get these cases made after all! Maybe since there will be less to produce, they might get to us faster :)

@Boil those are good points iou make and would likely make for an excellent and well received v3/MI-8.

For now, I am really excited that version 2 worked out and looking forward to an upcoming build!

Any information you can give us about a schedule for the next few months? I read from the Twitter that production has started, so it's exciting to know we might have our cases in a month or two.

A user that recently purchased an Inno3d 2070 was nice enough to measure it for me. I have to say it looks like it would be damn close to fitting.

Quite sure you can shave an mm or two from it & slightly bend the heat pipe. Or drill the front part of MI-6's internal wall. #sfflife #itsneversmallenough

Thanks for the support! Not much of a chance of the production being reduced with qty change...

Thanks. What are you gonna put in it?

@firewolfy Glad to see you have a path forward for the 2nd batch. Such a nice case!

Thanks man, it is good to see this to fruition.

Right now the plan is 1st or 2nd week in Jan. --I should get some info on schedule this week, and I'll share that.

Wow, what is that, about 194? It would be painful to deform the plastic GPU housing to get it to fit for sure. Maybe a dremel?
Have to see the pcb dim to see if it's even plausible....yikes

I wonder if there will be any new itx GPUs by the time we get our hands on these cases.
I might switch to Vega nano for a full AMD build, but my msi 1070 is more than powerful enough for me.

What bemuses me is that, out of 50 or 60-something of the FE cases, there are only like 10 or so build logs? Where are the rest of these people?

Quietly enjoying their blissful case! Mine is working hard as a Premier and Photoshop workstation.
