Soldering pcie extension to back of itx board?

This is probably an insane idea... but would it be possible to solder an extension or a pcie slot (bearing in mind that the wires would be reversed) to the back of a motherboard to make back to back gpu layout cleaner?

I'll entertain your decidedly insane thoughts:

Solder pads would be on the same side as the connector or ribbon cable extension.

Say you're desoldering the original connector and soldering a new one on the back (let's assume it's got the same layout mirrored) then it wouldn't sit flush with the board hence no tensile strength.

If you're soldering ribbon cable right on the board, well, good luck with that.. don't fail one or you'll need to redo every one of them... and I guess if you're after 'cleaner' layout the sight of that wouldn't be 'clean'. Make sure you don't pull too hard on that gpu too...
