Yeah... the NF-A12x25 is going to be your best bet. They're better for just about any situation than one of the more static pressure/airflow focused fans. There's been quite a few tests, and they're just better in general. If you're going air cooling, then I would run two of them in exhaust to get the most airflow through those panels as possible.

I can't find this answered anywhere but: is there a way to fit the Noctua L12S in this case?
If there's a will there's a way. But do you really want to bend and flatten the L12s to a pancake? That cooler is 70mm high and the SM series tops out at 55mm

I pulled the trigger today and ordered a sm580 here in Europe. I am not complaining about the price, but at such premium price tag, some fan filters and grills would be greatly appreciated. I wish i am not sounding like a broken record as i might not be the only one to bring this up. I know fan grills are very cheap, but a custom design by sliger would look better i suppose.

I wonder if it is possible to get the bifurcated PCI bracket with only 1 PCI slot in the #2 position? Why? To create space between a two slot GPU and the spine. Thinking of RTX 3080 in there since to fan on the other end blows hot air towards the inside of the case.

Couldn't the PSU be flipped around and help push the GPU exhaust up?

RTX 3000 GPU are now unleashed...:D
PCIe 4.0 should become useful with loading time as Microsoft and Nvidia will released on decompressing data from SSD directly from GPU (similar solution as PS5 finally...:))

Thus, @Sligerjack @KSliger do you have any news about PCIe 4.0 riser please?..:D

I am going to be purchasing the SM580 within the next few days with the 670LS for my build I have a quick question does that pump block has any LED on it if so what color?

Also the 670LS when adding it to the SM580 I won't have any problems with that cpu cooler you do have them in stock correct?

Also will the SM580 support the Asus Strix RTX 3080 its a 2.9 slot card and is 31.85cm

12.53 " x 5.51 " x 2.27 " Inch
31.85 x 14.01 x 5.78 Centimeter

Thats the exact specs from the link below can someone just double check that this will work?

From the SM 580 product specs:
  • Supports three(3) slot wide cards with room between side panel and card for airflow
  • Card is mounted behind motherboard on a PCIe 3.0 16x Flexible Ribbon Riser
  • with Standard Inlet
  • Maximum card height: 133mm (157mm for power connectors)
  • Maximum card length: 328mm
  • Maximum card width: 67mm
  • with Pigtail Inlet
  • Maximum card height: 157mm
  • Maximum card length: 328mm
  • Maximum card width: 67mm
The card will probably fit, but make sure you get both the regular and pigtail power connector

The parts that I'm 100% sure of purchasing right now are:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X or 3900XT if I find it available soon
  • ASUS ROG Strix X570 I motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x32GB memory kit (CMK64GX4M2D3600C18)
  • EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Ftw3 Ultra Gaming
  • Corsair SF750 Platinum
  • Gigabyte Aorus 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
  • WD Blue SN550 2TB PCIe 3.0 SSD

Unless you are not intent on gaming, I'd go for 10600k or 10700k. If you have to go AMD, I'd suggest 3300x or 3600x.

Ditch the X570, pick up a B550 board.

Unless you do professional work, you don't need 32 gb of ram.

Don't buy a RTX 2080 right now - wait for 3070 to drop, or if you can find a used 2080 ti for cheap, do that.

I would pick up two NVME's

The only PCIe 4 riser that I've seen is the LinkUp, but they want $50 per riser. Probably have to wait until someone like LiHeat steps up to PCIe 4 to get something which can be affordably bundled.
Thanks for feedback.
As I’m not expert in riser, what pcie gen 4 will be suited for my SM550? Length obviously. But there is a specific bracket for SM case, isn’t it?

Thank you for the suggestion @jaeparku. I ended up going down the Intel route with a 10700KF. This way I can also use my OWC TB3 dock and backup drive. I also got an EVGA 1660 super as a placeholder GPU that should be an easy 2nd hand seller, especially within the step up 90 day period. The system will be mostly used for 3D Jewellery CAD, Photoshop and MS Office apps. As for gaming, it depends on whether any of the old guildies comes back for WoW or WoW classic

Here’s my Partpicker list

I finished building it this afternoon and I’m now installing apps.

Overall it was an amazing experience since the last system I’ve built was back in 2010 with a Phenom II x4 965 CPU, an ASUS Croshair IV formula m/b, an EVGA 570 Superclocked GPU, 8gb DDR3, a 60gb OCZ Vertex Sata2 ssd and a Coolermaster HAF-X case!

I’ve been using MacBook Pro’s for the last 8 years

You will want to match the length, and probably match having the slot perpendicular to the cable. I think you'll just have to remove the two screws which attach the included riser to the little metal shelf in the SM550. The linkup risers have 2 retention slots (as opposed to holes), so it should be fairly easy to to swap in.

PSA: I ordered an SM580 directly from Sliger. It was completed and picked up by the courier in just 10 days! So for anyone wondering about production lead times, they seem to have caught up from earlier in the year. Many thanks @KSliger and team! Over to you FedEx...

Long time SFF lurker, first-time poster. I'm sure I'll be back when the case arrives and I start making mistakes... ?

@KSliger based on their published pictures, do you think that the 3080 Asus Strix and EVGA FTW3 cards will fit with the standard power cable in the SM580?

Will this RTX3080 fit in the SM580 without problems?
