The past month I've bought some stuff.

Dreame L40 Ultra vacuuming and mopping robot

Now I wanted it to not be dependent on internet and the manufacturer's app, Valetudo to the rescue. But for this I need a part that's open source and needs assembly.

Dreame Breakout PCB

This allows to root the robot so the Valetudo modifications can be installed. The soldering iron I had on hand didn't have small enough tips and not easily found tips. I also needed more help to get the fine soldering that's needed for this PCB, like flux, smaller soldering tin wire and better tip cleaning.

It's a Fnirsi HS02-A that's powered by USB-C, I also got a GaN 100W USB-C brick to power it, it's about 5 seconds to heat it up to 370°C.

Raspberry Pi Monitor

I also jumped on the Raspberry Pi 15.6" monitor when it was launched, for now using it at 60% brightness because I have no spare USB-C charger available.
It's going to be a good partner for the Pi 400 I've had from day one as well.

Forgive me SFF I hath sinned. I now have Asus PA602 tower. Not SFF Maine Coon cat for scale (he's about the footprint of an NCase when loafing)....and yes, my choice of tower was dictated by a physical power-button lockout switch LOL. 12L to OMGWTF liters (I think 80??), damn chassis is like 16kg empty.

I guess I need to post to the LFF subforum 🤪

Son, I am dissapointed

Pro tip: if you like Asus Pro Art line, the Xiikii Industry Develops a 9.8L Chassis Around ASUS’s ProArt GPUs – the FF04 – SFF.Network | SFF.Network case is the way to go. Your cat probably will ruin it tho 😁

Neat...and also probably going to not have any size-compatible GPUs for it in 6 weeks. 😅

The case was actually 25% off open-box over BF...so it wasn't quite so $$$-stupid as much of the ProArt line (like the liquid cooler LOL). And it came with all the accessories and peels--box look like it got mugged, but oh well. But a lot of it was the growing heat and power and size needs, combined with having run an underrated PSU in SFX for years and needing a better PSU for anything. I will say...last time I bought a "normie" retail tower was a Raven RV-02 back in like 2013...these things have come a very long way in 11 years LOL.

Curious - what kind of work do you do with your rig? Machine learning / cryptography etc?

Raven RV-02 is a proper SFF case, btw. I almost ended up with one of the RV series (eventually settled with SG08).

Years ago, my Creative IEM went into the toilet 😅

I learned my lesson and I never use my IEM in the restroom ever since.

I do data analysis during the day, and gaming at night. I had been running my 3070Ti on a 600w psu since I got it LOL.

The RV02, which is what I had, was a moose the RVs all were; I think you're thinking of the RVZ series was SFF

Whops, LOL yes you're right, I was thinking of the RVZ!

Ah data analysis.. ok yeah I guess that's going to be pretty heavy.
