Did anyone tried F4-3000C16D-16GRS ?

i use this kit with my 2200g, but only stable at 2933 mhz. with renoir i hope it will run at least at 3200 mhz.

there are a couple of posts about it in this thread, see here:

(i also posted thaiphoon burner screens to identify the exact hynix cjr dies it uses. my kit is the newer revision, purchased in january, manufactured in september 2019, see here:
)

ok, it starts to be interesting here in hungary, pro 4350g, 4650g and 4750g can all be purchased for about eur 149, 219 and 319 respectively. no widespread availability, but next day pick up/shipping at a couple of retail (e)shops. boxed version with amd cooler and 3y warranty. no international shipping, fyi.

they have all 3 cpus in stock for example:

Installed 3.60R with Ryzen 3400G.
I'm getting "irq handler for vector" errors on boot, but boots fine.
But sometimes graphical glitches, not stable enough for me.
Will go to 3.60K for now.
I don't have any issue with that bios. can you show us what an irq handler for vector error is? Bluescreen if Windows boots ? do you have used the newest chipset driver ?
You can get it here . +

https://www.amd.com/de/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/a320 . I have to installed it to fix pcie link speed issue on nvme . Maybe its an similar error ? with the driver it fix it at me.

This sounds very interesting and promising from the tomshardware review. "As with AMD's other chips, the 65W TDP desktop APUs adhere to a maximum 88W Package Power Tracking (PPT) ceiling, meaning they can pull a maximum of 88W from the socket at stock settings. " "The 4750G reached 81W of power consumption during the x264 HandBrake render test (integrated graphics) and peaked at 102W after overclocking." This should mean that the A300's hardware with the PSU brick and all can handle the 4700G/4750G without overclocking, right?

for me 4600g will be the sweet spot, having not only lower power consumption (=safer long-term operation), but also better price/performance ratio. the extra EUR 100+ cost and the increased cooling noise during load in a300 would simply not worth it for my usage. i've been considering getting a 4650g recently, but i've just realized that a pro apu is not only more expensive (specially atm), but it's enterprise features could also come with performance hit, as written in the tomshardware review:

Overclocking Renoir's memory was a bit more involved, but we began by disabling AMD's system memory encryption (TSME). This feature only comes on the Pro chips, and it's enabled by default. Unfortunately, it creates overhead, so our stock memory latency dropped from 80.2ns to 72.2ns just by disabling the feature. That's a nice gain for simply flipping a switch. This really is the only performance-impacting difference between the Pro and non-Pro models.

i guess tsme can be switched off in a300 as well, still this information made me being patient and wait for 4600g retail availablity and hopefully some good deals later. why paying for pro features when you don't use them or have to disable them?

@rubicoin have to agree on the Ryzen 4650G with you. It's pretty much (in term of CPU) similar to the 6C/12T Ryzen 3600.

Or this one:

The important thing is to go Ryzen (2400G)->3400G->4650G->4750G. So far the CPU Power. Now lets look at the iGPU:

Power Consumption (Asus Prime B550-Plus, 32GB DDR4, Win10 v1909):

Summary:
In terms of CPU horsepower, the
Ryzen 4750G is more similar to a 3700X (latter on being +6% faster)
Ryzen 4650G is more similar to a 3600 (latter on being +4% faster)
-- this makes 110€ difference (4650 vs 4750)

Additionally, observe the iGPU benchmark: it's like +3% for going from 3400G to 4650G
-- +3% additional as a part of 110€ difference (for going from 4650G to 4750G)

So what do we get for 110€? 2 more Cores, about the same heat (if you allow turbo) and ~ +3% more on iGPU side of things.

I think the 4600G is indeed a sweet spot.

Edit 1: typos/formulation
Edit 2: @rubicoin I did not know there was a difference in memory latency between 4650G and 4600G. My bet is, A300 does not allow any ECC adjustments. So the security settings should be "by default" using stock options. Hmmm. I don't want to wait for 4600G. Currently (tested with AIDA32) I get memory latency of about 74-76ns (3200@CL18-18-18-43).
Edit 3: Just saw on specs of Ryzen 4650G (+ECC) vs 4600G (- ECC). The PROs would be a nice solution for NAS/HomeServer/SmallBusinessServer.

@ermac318 completely understand. the question I did also ask myself.

Facts are, we have the S-ATA und the drive power cables. What we/you would need is another case to house the drives (and the mobo). This would also give a better ability to cool the drives and hence the whole system. But it should not get hot anyway. :)

I encounter troubles at temps outside over 30°C. My 2 WD drives in external bay each and a fan in front of it are getting waaaay too warm. 40-50°C... I wonder if I would be better to temporarily shut down the drives and the VM running them....

kinda, but 3400g bottlenecked by slower RAM
Yes, me saying this was referring to the jump from 3400G to 4650G, correct. I want to admit, I did not calculate that, it may be a bit off, but it really does not matter.

What becomes more appealing is the 47x0G in term of iGPU.

For me - on other side - coming from 2400G it's worth discussing this issue.

The 47x0G is kinda end-level, giving also most iGPU advantage. It amazes me to see the APUs performing relative fast to proper desktop equivalents! And I don't think we will use A300 for 5000G Series :) So the 4750G is kinda the limit. (We will see in the tests what a300 is capable of) if I would know that the 47x0G is too much for a300 to handle, well, the purchase would be done... But I'll have to wait :)

PS: Did you see that the Ryzen 4000G Series APUs are officially specd to run with 3200 memory? Interesting in terms of stability :)

...where would you put the drives? I dunno why you'd run FreeNAS on a box that can, at most, take 2 hard drives.

i mentioned freenas just because of ecc ram, which is an official recommendation for it. but yeah, a 2 disk zfs is not the most optimal solution. but if you are ok with 5 tb of usable storage, you can fit 2x5 tb seagate 2.5" hdds with minimal tray modding as discussed before. or wait for cheap 8tb m.2 nvme ssds :)

but the point here was the apu, a 35w 4350ge with 10-15w idle power consumption and 8 threads would be awesome, compared to those 6-10w tdp apollo lake integrated boards everyone uses.

anyways, all of this was hypothetic as ecc ram is not supported in a300.

Is there a specific bios config or guide needed to get the iGPU working for Renoir chips? My 4750G (bios ver. 3.60R) will always crash when loading display driver on WIndows or loading Ubuntu 20.04 with latest stable kernel. Default display drivers will work, but have extremely low performance. My 3400G is stable with stock bios settings.

oh, that's not good news. i only found a new adrenalin version on official 4750g support page. you may give it a try (win10 only).

Using 3.60N so far no problems on iGPU with 4650G ,even on playing games.
and i can set to DDR4-3600 and IF 1800 for stable...
