DUDE THANKS! This will help greatly with figuring out how to fit it into the S4 Mini (with the wrap around). BTW
@Zero did you try... flipping the HDPLEX connector upside down? with the PCB side opposite the GPU? (so it's pcb is closer to the bottom of the case?) I remember reading a post that mentioned that they were able to get it to fit without modding it/cutting it, by just flipping it around.
FedEx actually had actually shipped my 1080mini a day early to my house (today) ... but I literally missed the shipment by 7 minutes when I got home and read the "attempted shipping slip" they left on my door. Either way, I wouldn't be able to test fit it, as I don't have my S4 mini yet. I'll be getting my 1080mini tomorrow, so after doing a quick DOA test and I'll be shipping it off to
@Josh | NFC for further/various testing, along with my HDPLEX300 for sleeving.
Josh will get to test the 1080mini in an S4mini way more that I could, since he has S4's in hand. This way he can test it's fitting inside the S4 mini with and without the GPU shroud, or built in fans, (and which setup fits within the case's wrap-around bezel), he can make a sketchup model from having a 1080mini in-hand (useful), he can pull off the shroud and fans and see how a 120x12mm slim fan fits in it's place using the 120mm fan mount (and if that allows for the GPU to fit within the wrap-around bezel even better). He can do open testbench and closed-case temperature comparison tests of the stock fans and the 12x120mm slim fan if he wants. He can do HDPLEX300/Dell330 PSU-load tests.
He can do pretty much any reasonable tests he sees fit or would consider fun, in my opinion. He might even have enough fun with it to make a video about the 1080mini & S4 mini fitment for us.
Hell, he might even figure out how to setup the HDPLEX connector in it's original spot on the S4 so it doesn't interfere with the card's PCB/backplate, hell he can even remove my card's backplate in his testing if he wants, lol.
But I digress, I'm honored to send it to him, and I am in no rush to get it back until he feels his testing of it is thoroughly complete... besides my ASUS mobo isn't even out yet so I'm totally chill about starting my build.
