What's the direction of the front radiator fans (the white ones)? Are they sucking air in, or blowing out?
they are set to exhaust, so it's a pull configuration. I've read a few times that this is supposedly better than using push in the Meshlicious, so I wanted to give it a try. Truly, temps haven't changed much, but I guess that only works because of the 22 mm radiator.

The other issue was, that I couldn't find the original small screws for the radiator, so that solved the issue quickly, too. And I didn't want to wait that long with finishing the rebuild, as I'd have to order new ones.

Oh I fully agree, especially because just behind that radiator is your GPU. Don't want to blow hot air there 🙂 (hence my question)

Small progress made: Managed to properly cut out the opening with the dremel. Still need to deburr the cut sides, but thats probably happening over the weekend.

Next step: Making a cardboard or thick paper template of the AIO (2d only), specifically with the fan mounting holes, and transfer the latter to the case top.

If possible, I also want to leave enough space to either move the power switch and the USB ports to either the back or the front of the case, ie. when I go for the custom top hat.

more work in progress. Testing the original concept, before ordering a white AIO.

Might want to add some kind of spacer in-between. In the interim version, ie. when mounting the radiator to the the bottom instead of the top, I used slightly longer screws. But when I was putting the fans onto the radiator, I noticed that the Arctic P12 Max are not "solid" on the sides of the mounting holes like a lot of other radiator-centric fans. That means I could use shorter mounting screws and then add another set of eg. offset screws to the bottom-facing part of the fans, acting as actual case mounting screws.

Parts used:

- the modified S300 mainboard / middle tray
- the modified S300 top frame
- pristine S300 donor case bottom and back plate
- PSU: Fractal Design Ion 650W Gold SFX-L
- AIO: Thermalright Frozen Edge 240
- Fans: Arctic P12 Max + original Thermalright mounting screws

PSA: If you have issues reassembling parts of the case, esp. with screws that originally did fit now not fitting anymore - use the ones that come supplied with the case in the fancy "cheap as hell" cardboard box. They fit like a glove :)

Ok, just ordered the Thermalright Frozen Edge 240 in white .. AND a triple pack of Thermaltake "CT120 EX ARGB Sync Snow White". What a word.

Let's see if those fans perform better or equal to the ones coming with the AIO, but also if they can keep up with the Silverstone Air Blazer 120 RW.

Gonna test them on the OBS Streaming system currently residing in the Meshroom S. Test scheme as usual, ie. idle + full load, and then a mixed mode test while doing a popup strim :)

Currently, the Silverstone Vida 240 + the Air Blazer 120RW stick to about 37° C during mixed mode, and idle at around 26 - 28° C. No real change compared to the S300 custom build, with one big difference: Before, the AIO was "exposed" directly to the air, while now its got some mesh in-between. Very impressive, this AIO. Only slight con - aside of the asymetric tube configuration - is, that the pump can get a bit loud once in a while.
