These benchmarks look very promising. The gaming performance of the 3300x seems on par with the 3600, despite the much lower price. I am planning a build and don´t have any heavy workloads beside gaming, so this in combination with the new b550 motherboards are likely to be in my next system.

I’ve just finished reading the reviews on Anandtech and Tom’s Hardware.
The 3300X in particular looks like a great buy, and worth the extra $20 over the 3100. Having all 4 cores active on the same CCX gives the 3300X a bigger lead in performance over the 3100 than the frequency difference would suggest.
