I remember when i first saw this card, was so excited, until i saw the connections. I have no idea why high end graphics cards still have a single DVI connector, let alone two.

Possibly for legacy purposes??? Left over unused stock/parts??? (I hope not!)
Interested in understanding this as well.

Well for me it means that I don't need any adapters or new cables to connect my two old monitors. One of them has an HDMI input and for the other one I could use an adapter, but I'm saving 10-20 bucks not getting those. I believe a lot of people who want to save money on their builds will look out for stuff like that.

Honestly though when you are already spending several hundred to a thousand dollars, what's ten bucks for adaptors?

I think it's because of Nvidia 3D Vision, it is not supported over HDMI or DisplayPort. All the 3D Vision monitors use Dual-Link DVI ports. And although it is more or less dead (in terms of official game profile updates and such), if Nvidia removes all DVI ports (and not include an adapter), this would have a negative effect on the (however small) community that's still using it. The general impression would be that there's no way of using a technology which is being advertised on their site.
So basically yeah, for legacy purposes, as ricochet said.

Never knew that, but very interesting.

In fairness, I still use dual link DVI for my monitor, but two ports are completely excessive.
