Would like to use the HDPlex GAN 250W in a SFF NAS/Server build I'm planning, but unsure if it'll be enough. Would like your feedback.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 5650G ("65W")
Mobo: AMD B550
RAM: 2x32GB DDR4-3200 ECC
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro p400 (for NVENC only)
NIC: Intel 82599EN (10GbE using DAC SFP+)
HDD: 6xSATA (10TB)
SSD: 4xSATA

Wattage-wise I think it's within power budget, but I'm unsure about amperage-wise when the HDDs spin up. Would appreciate insights from the geniuses here.

AFAIR HDDs can suck up to 30W per drive in certain load states.

The specs page of HDPlex doesnt state anything about OCP for the 250W unit, so I'm a bit sceptical if it could take that all at once. On the other hand, one doesnt high-power drives all the time either.

Maybe check with HDPlex themselves?

The 250 gan is rated for 20 amps on 12v rail and can handle higher for short durations (in milliseconds). Can't say for sure if you'll be okay, but it will definitely give you a solid 20 amps on 12v at least. OCP is set at 300 watts per Larry. I did try to push it to hit OCP, and found that number to be about right.

I would say if all your drives don't spike to 3 amps at exactly the same time, you're probably good. Maybe try to research from benchmarks exactly how much they'll pull and for how long.
