Following on from my thread in the C4-SFX discussion, I am looking for a replacement SFX/SFX-L PSU for my current (SG13) rig and potential future C4 build.
I was running a Silverstone 450W SFX non modular PSU, and am considering the Corsair SF450, SF600 and Silverstone 500W SFX-L units.
Dan has said that the Corsairs may be preferable as they are shorter, leaving more room below for WC / AIO tubes.
I will not be water cooling in any form, as I want to keep it air cooled for weekly transport to LAN nights.
What are your thoughts on PSU choice?
Ironically, it looks like my original choice, the SF450 is out of stock in the UK for the moment, with the other 2 available.

FWIW, I can vouch that selecting the SF450 has been a really good user experience, except maybe for actually building. As another forum member did on the modding forum for his SG05, you may want to consider separating the wires for the flat cables to increase their flexibility. Other than that, I've had no unpleasant issues that I can blame on the PSU, and it's dead silent at low load.

I'd agree with @jtd871 here. An alternative would be the FSP Dagger 600W if it's available, as it has similar flat cables and modularity.

Very happy with my SF450. And if you want to spend a few extra bucks, sleeved cabling will allow more flexibility and better looks

Thanks guys, the (unavailable) SF450 is still my preferred choice, I don't think I need 600W for an i5 (Haswell) / GTX 970 rig.
@confusis, I'd heard of the FSP Dagger, but not seen them generally available in the UK. I can only see one on Amazon UK at double the usual price - a whopping £164!

@jmarin, @jtd871; fine recommendations, thanks.
I gather the standard cables are stiff, and can be 'fun' to deal with.
If I go to a Dan Case C4 SFX, I'll definitely need custom cables, otherwise I can add them later or if if get really fed up with them.

Still frustrated with availability for the SF450, Amazon and Ebuyer have no date and Scan are saying 18th of May, CCL are saying 20th June.
So, stuck with my GTX 660 for the moment as I no longer trust the Silverstone SFX 450 Bronze after my motherboard got fried.

I don't see the benefit of the 600W version in my situation, unless my power requirements sit better in its range than the 450. :\

Bumping this thread since I'm not sure about these (all gold and modular) PSUs (case will be fractal core 500):

600W THERMALTAKE Toughpower SFX - 100$
Corsair SF450 - 112$
Corsair TX550M - 100$
Corsair TX550 - 100$
Sama Armor 550W (never heard of this brand) - 92$

Ryzen 2700X, GT1030

Corsair SF450, more than enough power for your setup and the small size allows more room for cable management. It's pretty much platinum rated, too

Just realized Fractal Core 500 doesn't support SFX PSU.. So I have to to with ATX up to 160mm. Also I could get 550W Focus SSR-550FX for a bit more $.

Could just get the Silverstone SFX to ATX adapter

Yes, the Silverstone PP08 is a really useful piece of kit; I have one in my SG13. The offset SFX mount is brilliant for giving you more room to work with, unlike traditional SFX/ATX adaptors.

Having decided to go for the SF600 and have a power reserve for future expansion, I now see it's out of stock at my choice of UK supplier too!
