Wondering if its possible to mount a (very short) 280 mm radiator in the Ncase M1, as it also states the max length for GPUs is 322 mm?
My guess that'd only be possible as bottom mount, because the side-mount doesnt look like its capable of more than 280ish mm length?

Input by anyone owning an Ncase M1 V6 or V5, who could maybe measure stuff or just tell me from experience would be greatly welcome! :)

I have a V5 in storage. Let me know what you need and I'll dig it out when I get home tonight.
Specifically, if a radiator of the following dimensions might either fit in side mount OR if not, in bottom mount:

317 x 39 x 27 mm

And, if not at all, what hinders this, eg. with side mount, maybe real case length, PSU extension socket in the way, etc.?

ps: That's the radiator dimensions of the be quiet Silent Loop 2 280.

Need to consider tubing/fittings clearance too.

I'll pin a reminder and get back to you.
Lowest I can bend the tubes is approx 8.5 cm including the radiator. They're centric, not off-centered, there is approx 3.5 cm distance from the outer rim of the radiator. on one side, there is a small (re)fill port, approx 1.8 cm distance from the outer rim, and approx 8 mm tall.

Total internal length of the M1 V5 is around 306mm.

I think the V6 opens up the front of the chassis, behind the front panel to allow a GPU to poke through, but the side or bottom mount would still be constrained by the internal dimensions.

@Gingerbeer is correct, the total internal depth is only available for the GPU because of the cutout at the front of the chassis:

The cutout has been present since V1, but I enlarged it slightly in V6 for better GPU support at the margins.

how wide is said cutout? would it allow for something like what I'm thinking, ie. a bottom mounted 280 radiator? or is it still too short / narrow?

the front panel issue could certainly be fixed with an extension or custom one.

I'm currently trying to figure out which case I want to use for a 280 SFF system, that's a) as lightweight as possible, b) fits in the backpack I own.

eg. sth like a Meshlicious fits, but nothing else, while an S400 or M1 sized case would still allow for eg. a keyboard or even a portable monitor to be put aside of it.

It's 130mm wide. Additionally, the distance between the clips that hold the side panels is 138mm wide, so just a bit too tight for 140mm fans on the bottom. I can't really see a way for a 280mm rad to fit.
