m1 v6 + 2.5" drive in the front?

Hey guys Im a bit confused on how to install a 2.5" drive in the front of the m1 v6. Should I remove that pre-installed plate and install it directly to the frame or what? This might be super dumb so sorry in advance.

See the manual. You can install a 2.5" drive on the inside-front of the chassis, as well as one on the ODD tray. You will have to remove the tray first to install either one.

The mounting holes are only countersunk on one side so the screws will only be flush with the drive on the inside, but you technically can mount it on the outside of the chassis if you want. Using the ODD tray is the intended method for mounting a drive in that location, however.
