Whats the difference between the fans noctua a8 and a9?

The lp53 was tested before with a9 and a8 but now it appears the measurement of the a9 was removed?

I have the a9 on the lp53 on a 8700k

I chose the non 2.5W version because at 100% cpu the temps are ok for me with the auto rpm regulation of the mainboard, as the 2.5w version was way louder overall over 2000rpm and i dont need the extra 500 rpm

@23571113 it takes a LOT of work to make that comparison like you want it. I did that with 1070 cards with audiofiles, rpm's, different positions, dimensionmeasurements and and and and.

It is very tedious, it is fun but at the end of the day you dont even know how much people you helped with that and if you time would not be better spent at something different.

I would say you have to be thankfull for ANY comparison someone makes in his free time.

Yeah, dimensions and loudness would be great, but im happy that we have what we have.

Thanks to all that are involved

Anyone know anything about the ID-Cooling IS-40X?

I posted it up on my Chopin cooler thread. But, I haven't been able to find any direct reviews on it. Would love to see how it compares to the C7 and Noctua L9

i'm almost certain that the is40x is just a painted is40v3, which was reviewed by sffnetwork last year.

it has also been reviewed by @IntoxicatedPuma for his sff cpu cooler roundup.

Alright thanks. When I found the 40X is was unaware Id-Cooling had a 45mm tall cooler.
It's actually rather impressive. Matching the C7. But a few mm shorter. This might be a perfect little cooler for the Chopin case.

Anyone noticed the great performance of the 31mm Scythe S950M, especially on 4Ghz OC?
Can it be thanks to the exhaust fan instead of intake?

I haven't seen anyone review the ID Cooling IS-30. It would be nice if we FINALLY had a replacement for the CNPS2X for CPU coolers at or under 30mm height.

There is the Scythe s950m (31mm), I have one cooling an i5-8400, payed only 13$ on Joybuy.

Coolermaster has the G200P and the G400P, 39.5 mm and 58mm respectively, launching in August (supposedly). The G400P has 4 heatpipes and would be more interesting if they only shaved a few more mm's off. I can't tell the size of the fan; if it's 15mm width, then a 10mm fan would drop the height to 52mm. Certainly something to keep an eye on.

The G200P looks like a direct competitor to Noctua's L9i with 2 heatpipes and sub 40mm.
