I am looking for a "bigger" PSU for my gaming rig and the Corsair SF750 is hard to find at retail right now. Has anyone used the Silverstone SX700-PT, this looks solid but wanted to hear from someone that has actually used it.

Silverstone SFX PSUs are all high quality but I believe you should expect it to be a little louder. I did fan swaps on my Silverstone PSUs back in the day to quiet them down.

"Bigger," as in physically larger? the SX700-PT is 50 watts less capable than the SF750. Why are you looking to change to a lower wattage unit?

I just got the sx700 for a build and its been fine so far. Not exactly sure of the fan dimensions, but I'm fairly certain it can be swapped for an NF a9x14 (I think I read that the fan header is a 2 pin on the silverstone, but not sure.) I'm about to do a fan swap on my sf600 and if that's successful may give the sx700 the same treatment.

Whats the noise level like on the SX700 and what load are you putting on it?

By bigger I am meaning wattage, my system right now is using a FPS Dagger Pro 500 and I was looking to move to the SF750 but the cost is nuts so am considering the SX700-PT.

It's running a 3950x, b550, and 2080 ti. I just finished the build on Tuesday, so haven't done a bunch of stress testing or anything, but he fan noise during gaming is fine, about on par with the other case fans. I had the same dilemma where I wanted the 750 for a 3000 series card whenever they are actually available but the units, if available, we something like 250 versus the 150-160 I got the 700 for. Unless you have some very specific reason to want the corsair, this thing is a much better value currently that has a bit more noise that can be fixed with a relatively easy mod.

I would imagine part of it would be fixed with a lower power need. I am running a stock 3600X on X570 with a 5700XT. My load according to the UPS under full gaming load peeks at about 360 or so. The issue I am facing right now, I think, is I am high enough into the 550 PSU to push the fan to a noisy level. With a 700 watt PSU I would ne near that 50% sweat zone and would expect it to be quiet.

With that set up, you should go for the sf600. I've been running the same gear listed above with an x570 rather than b550 mobo off a 600w flex atx psu for a few months now with no issues (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/sjp8TW). the sf600 im running in my dan a4 is running a 3900, b550 and 1080 ti mini with no problems as well. I only picked up the 700w unit to upgrade to a 3080. you should even be fine with the 550w you have now, 360 is nowhere close enough to 550 to be a problem

I'm like you, looking for a source for similar equipment, and if not what to buy, they say 600w is enough, but at the same price corsair sf750 ($ 140 + -) and sf600 ($ 130 + -) better the 750?

The reason I am looking for a 700 to 750 watt PSU is that I am a noise snob, there I said it.

My rig is running a 280mm AIO for a 3600 at stock speeds. I run the fans at 40% constant and have no issues and hear next to nothing. I run the case fans at about 45% and that gives good exhaust and intake for the GPU. The entire system when running RDR2 never gets any louder than at idle, with the exception of the PSU.

The reason is PSU fans are linked to wattage pulled and not to heat. This means once you pass about 50% load the fans begin to ramp up. With my current system on a Dagger Pro 550 I am hitting between 65% and 70% load at peaks and the fan is ramping up to noticeable noise levels. I figure I bigger PSU would keep me closer to that 50% sweet spot and thus kill off the noise.

That option is a little scary, first over a month for likely arrival and I would have concerns if I needed warranty help.

Understood your concerns about warranty. There aren't many 750w SFX power supply models to choose from, aside from Silverstone and Corsair.
If you can wait, you might want to check out the upcoming Cooler Master 750 & 850 SFX. Seems like they are going to release it soon. I have seen them available for sale in Taobao but was recalled a while back. Not sure why they were recalled as some feedback it was a little noisy under load.

This is a good alternative. Great Wall SFX from Taobao. They are the OEM for Corsair.

Titan TF750 & TF850
Is the case included?

Would love to mod it so the power supply never leaves.

How long it takes depends on the shipping....And the shipping options get very expensive. Even the cheapest options would probably add up to $200USD ($160USD for the PSU itself to start) after all is said and done, and the most expensive and fast and reliable like UPS air would be nearer $300
