so i wanna make my own PC case / Open air case , the problem is that i have no idea where to start at all, i have access to laser machine i can use at my work place and it uses a software called Cypcut 6.1, and i have some well sized carbon steel and stainless steel as well i can use the way i want but idk if that okay to build a pc case so i'm gonna look forward to your advice on this matter if i should use what i have and i wanna make something like this , Thanks for reading my post

Start with what you know you need: holes for the motherboard standoffs, and the I/O shield cut-out. Their placement/size relative to one another is standard and universal and not optional. After that PCIe slots, if you need them. After that PSU accommodation. A project like this--is going to have lots of revisions and probably a couple prototypes.
Also, in place of steel, prototyping with lexan or plastic sheets might work better for you. Those also work super for final products.
You'll need some standoffs for components, and a screw tap for them... Might as well use the same for assembly of the case.
Do you also have access to a press brake, for folding the steel? Do you want to go full ATX (like pictured) or make a slightly smaller version for mATX or ITX?

Thank u very much for your reply <3 , today i tried to start with the motherboard base where i'm gonna put standoff but they don't wanna stay in place i guess cuz of the holes are wrong, i used carbon steel cuz that's what i found laying around once i make sure that the MB standoff are in place and holes line up i will go to the next step also what do u call that standoff that helps to MB in place idk how to explain it but i hope u understand
I love your reply and suggestion thanks a lot <3 , well i work with metal most of the time and the machine im using rated only for metal work and i have acess to a machine that can bend the metal. i wanna go Full ATX or any MB from Mini-ATX and Micro-ATX like the picture
I'd just buy one of those "open frame / testbench" plastic "frames" that go for an apple and a leg on amazon (last time I checked it was like 20 - 30 Euro), with the preferred MB layout, and then retrace that on whatever material you plan to use for your prototype.
