Hi guys,

I am almost ready (read weeks away) to test an homemade custom GPU cooler.

Could you point me out a GPU that will be worth using, i.e. a GPU that gets hot easily?
So that if my cooler can manage to keep it cool, it will also be ready to handle the latest GPUs?

I would of course be glad to check what I can get with a 1080ti or a 2080ti, but they are both too expensive for a first test.

That's why I was thinking about an old GPU, preferably from NVidia, that I may find as second hand for cheap, like under 300$.
Any idea?

Nvidia... Hmm other than 980Ti mentioned above, perhaps 780Ti?

If AMD, then perhaps R9 Fury, R9 390X, or 7970?

The gtx 480 ran quite hot, if you just want something that can generate a lot of heat.
you can get them for about $40-80usd on ebay

Weird!

But alas it looks like I am a bit late as the guy wants to keep his last card.
I tried to sign in at hardware.fr anyway but here is what I get following the link they sent me:
:(
Everything should be fine with my comp though.
Will try again later from home, who knows...
EDIT: an admin had to validate my account, just posted a reply there

I will also have a look around for a 480 or a 780Ti, thanks everyone!
