SFF.Network Hexus Reviews Asus RTX 3070 Noctua Edition

Hexus has released a review of the ASus RTX 3070 Noctua Edition. No surprise, the 4.3 slot card is the quietest and coolest air-cooled GPU they've tested. Additionally, the card actually runs in a passive mode most of the time, and the back plate is more brown then previously expected.

If you have an SFF case with the space for it, and are dead set on the quietest GPU, it looks like Asus and Noctua made your card...if you can find it.

It's too bad he wasn't able to mount the cooler to a higher end card, would love to see how it handles a 3080 or 3090.

Not that the 3070 is slow (I have one), but I was surprised it wasn't a 3080 as well, but I figure it has to do with either chip availability or wanting to start with a lower wattage card.

I'm at the point though where I think I might prefer a single slot GPU with heatsinks and cooling for the VRAM, and a standard CPU style mount for an AIO. I could mount a nice NZXT X52 on it with some slow spinning fans and get a good result.

The new A4-H20 or the Ghost would be a nice build of this. Put a reasonable air-cooled CPU in, and a 3090 with AIO.

nApoleon Chiphell has "squeezed" the 3070 Noctua into the Cooler Master NR200P Max. (Yeah the NR200P isn't the smallest case out there though.)
