HDPLEX 400W AC-DC Brick Conversion Case Exist?

I am another happy owner of Skyreach 4 MINI. Currently it has a 1060 in it and I want to keep room for a 2070/2080 or something similar to that size in the future. I think many of us are salivating over the new HDPlex 400W AC-DC converter. I would love to ditch my Dell Brick which I think might be defective. It gets hot and eventually just causes a shutdown. I have to put a fan against it and that keeps everything running fine.

I saw Josh's video and he mentioned his desire to have a brick housing for the converter. Below is someone's attempt at this.

If anyone is working on something like this, I think there would be many interested buyers. Are there any generic cases that you guys know might fit the converter snugly?

Ya, I saw the video where Josh unboxes it and evaluates it. He was able to put it into a Skyreach, however he mentioned it wouldn't work with a bigger graphics card like a 1070/1080 or 2070/2080 Zotac mini.

he said that it won't fit exactly, in a standard SkyReach case.

but i'm telling you about a " modified " SkyReach, which is on ebay, where it will fit.

Ah sorry, got ya. I wonder if Josh might provide an S5 again that is just a tad bigger. I like my S4 and would rather just have the AC converter in a brick however. ill look on ebay for that. thanks.

there's no need for a bigger SkyReach, because it already fits his current SkyReach.

you do realize the difference stopping an exact fit, that he's talking about, is only 1mm, right ??

I saw how it fit on either side during Josh's video. Front and back it was too tall. The best place to put it looks like on the left side where the graphics card would go and that is the problem. If you have a larger card like a Zotac 1070 or 1080 there doesn't appear to be enough room. I believe Josh mentioned that in his video.

Josh mentioned that the largest graphics card that could go in with the AC-DC converter inside would be the Vega Nano. Josh does not recommend that card yet. Josh then goes on to say a 1060 would fit. He isn't sure about the new 20 series.

58- 57 = 1.

and as i've said, they're selling SkyReach cases on ebay, which are modified for that 1mm.

You can probably thin out the metalcase on the Hdplex and if needed remove part of the bezel on the S4M, but that is a very invasive mod. In a month we will probably have a better view of the possibilities we have with the S4M and the 400W ac-dc togother, and what we need to mod for them to fit together.

if done properly, it will look just fine.

and a GigaByte RTX2070 Mini would then fit perfectly.

yes.

as i've been telling @SoulTrain ,Josh said it wouldn't fit a standard SkyReach exactly, in the front.

he never said a modification of that 1mm would be difficult.

in fact, its pretty simple to modify for the front, since its only 1mm.

and they're selling " modded " SkyReach cases on ebay.
