Hey there,
Will be the upcoming 3080 fitting into the dan case?
I think about replacing my 2080 with the 3080.
Any problems with size or heat?

thank you!

How/what do you want to do in our sandwich case with this?

Based on the cards that have been announced so far, this EVGA XC3 version seems to be one of the most compact that doesn't push air through to the back of the card:

Hi @dondan,
Excuse my lack of imagination, but how should I flip the PSU please? (in my Dan Case A4 I have Asetek’s 645LT AIO)

Thank you

Hi @dondan

Was going to ask the same question as MartinM but are you suggesting to turn the PSU so that the fan faces the back of the GPU board? If so I guess the GPU exhaust would face the intake of the PSU?

If so, are there any concerns about the hot air overheating the PSU?

I flipped the psu and removed the plastic sheet.
Now I am waiting to get my hands on a 3080.

The black ADT isn't.

The last rev from the A4 is compatible : 3M™ 8KC3-0726-0300 PCIe® x16 Gen4

You'll have more luck finding the 8KC3-0726-0250

But do I need the pcie4.0?
Is there a really noticeable difference between 3.0 and 4.0? Can’t believe every 3080 user got pcie 4.0.

Well benchmark will tell us, but since the 2080ti was very close to cap the bandwith of PCIe3, I think the 3080 could.

To my mind, I wouldn't be bottleneck by a riser.

Will customers find a performance degradation on PCIE 3.0?

System performance is impacted by many factors and the impact varies between applications. The impact is typically less than a few percent going from a x16 PCIE 4.0 to x16 PCIE 3.0. CPU selection often has a larger impact on performance. We look forward to new platforms that can fully take advantage of Gen4 capabilities for potential performance increases.

When you see the 5700XT benefitting PCIe4 on newer games, it makes you wonder what will the 3090 difference be...

As far as I know the benchmark shown by Nvidia were done with an Intel. So no pcie 4.0.
If I achive the power Nvidia was presenting, I am more than happy. Even when it is „only“ pcie 3.0.

But intel systems can get a bit higher frames than AMD systems. Would be interesting to see which ends up mattering more, CPU or PCIe.

I also wonder if GPU taking data directly from storage without going through the CPU would change the dynamic of intel vs amd cpu performance.
