I’m planning making custom length psu cables for a cooler master v850 psu. I plan on using 17 awg wire and Mini-Fit Jr. terminals from mdpc, however since I already have the stock psu cables could I take the connectors from those and swap it to my new wire?

Yeah, you can. As long as you have the patience to de-pin all of them lol.

Connectors are inexpensive. I'd leave the stock cables alone in case the PSU needs to be RMA'd. It'll be a real PITA to de-pin your custom cables should you need to send your PSU in.

I recommend making the cables at least 5% but more like 10% longer than it seems you will need. After decades of modding things I learned long ago to make things a bit longer to they fit easily without any strain or kinking happening.
