I know C7 does have turbulence noise and I'm currently suffering it. Any one have tested the cooling performance difference of these 2 coolers?

Thank you for your test, I still have some questions: Is the Black ridge using a 12cm fan and what's your cpu?

Might be pull vs. push? AFAIK the Black Ridge performs poorly when the fan is pushing air out the fins (is that the stock configuration?).

I just installed the Black Ridge on my Ryzen 2400g, put the Noctua A9-14pwm on it from my NH-L9a. The Black Ridge, with the A9, is a solid 10 degrees cooler than the L9a was. So those previous results have to be wrong.

if i were to build with a r5 2600x or 9600k left on stock, which cooler would you guys pick ? i only 55mm of height available in the SM560 case

Most people I've seen do pretty well at those sizes with the C7 cu with a noctua 92x14mm fan. Black Ridge I havent seen many reviews in the newer version to feel confident.

@LiYonJin Are your bottom case fans (and AIO fan) set as intake or exhaust? I initially thought using the AIO fan as intake, as recommended by most comments I read, would increase GPU temps. However your results shows consistent GPU temps.

Just for a slight clarification, are those temps
LP53 + NF A9x14 PWM + shroud
vs.
BR + NF A12x15 PWM + shroud
?

Yes that's correct.

A small update. I removed the cooler to get to the clear CMOS header on my motherboard after a failed RAM OC. I removed the shroud and fan clips and used electrical tape along the entire edges of the cooler + fan and reinstalled. Getting the same performance as the cardboard shroud I made, which leads me to think it was hot air that was recirculating between the gaps that led to the higher initial temps I had when I tested this combination. It's a cleaner look too now.

have not had a change to try black ridge with 120mm fan yet but i am pretty sure it beats c7 cu.

black ridge with a9x14 slightly outperforms c7 cu (with its stock fan) at lower noise level. 2200rpm on noctua vs 2500rpm on cryorig's fan accounts for noise difference.
did not test c7 cu with a9x14 but general consensus seems to be it performs on par with stock but at lower noise.
