I could be mistaken, but if I remember correctly, the R9 Nano does not play nicely with pretty much any S4 Mini-friendly power supply setup. It has to do with how drastic the spikes in power draw are.

It's possible that, since people found this out, that either suitable power supplies have come out, or that the newer versions of common ones have been updated to be able to handle it. I know HDPLEX makes updates to their units pretty frequently.

That said, I'm also pretty sure that the 1070 is a more powerful card and a cheaper one. (Unless you already have the R9 Nano of course.) Though, being completely honest, seeing people tune their video cards in AMD's recent software (Wattman and Chill) makes me wish there was a Red Team card that was on par with and a similar size to the smaller 1070's. And Freesync monitors being so much cheaper... hopefully I don't have too much buyer's remorse when Vega drops.

The Dynamo will work the the R9 Nano, but you'll definitely need to use the Merge to run dual AC-DC units for the thing. It's a beast.
