Discussion Bottom case panels: folded or not folded?

I'm working on the concept of a sheet metal case and trying to make it realistic and feasible from the manufacturing point of view of folding, pressing and laser cutting. At the moment my frame is composed of 4 beams connecting the front and rear panel, but the more I look closely at the pics of some fairly famous SFF cases the more it seems to me that the bottom is actually part of the same sheet that includes the front and the rear of the panel, basically a panel folded in 3.

Considering it's a 20L case, does it makes sense?

In particular I would read through the stx 160 build in it's entirety, there was so much involved in case design I had never considered!

Thanks, all the infos in that series of posts is a gold mine! BTW I decided to base my concept on single panel with 3 folds. I think this is how the M1 was manufactured so it's a good reference base.
