Socket AM4 refuses to die as AMD keeps releasing new CPUs for it. For CES 2024, AMD announced four new chips for the elder platform. Based on Zen 3 technology, the most interesting of the chips is the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Featuring 100MB of Cache, eight cores, 105W TDP, and a price of $249, this looks like a good potential upgrade for those still holding onto their Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series CPUs. A very solid upgrade would be from the Ryzen 2600 and 3600 models to the 5700X3D as it would allow you to extract excellent performance from all but the absolute highest-end GPUs.
